pm or email me your address and I'll send you a catalogue with lots of info in it. You can get my email address from my website. You need to have an idea what sort of issue you are using oils for to give you an idea what to buy. However you could try this merrymoon.info/EssentialOils.html

yes Susan. Horses do. And in my opinion so could people in some circumstances and with certain oils. If an oil is derived from a plant that is also a food, as with the citrus oils, there is not really a problem. I have used lemon essential oil as a flavouring in a cake. It is the same with using them neat on the skin - unless you have sensitive skin it is not usually a problem. On the other hand my daughter is sensitive to Tea Tree which is supposed to be OK for using neat. But in doing this course I have to go with the 'official line' which is do not use oils neat and do not take internally. You also have to bear in mind that different species of animal have different body chemistry and different digestive systems - and the size of the animal is also a relevant factor. So if a person has the specific knowledge to use oils in a different way from the general recommendations that is OK. I just don't want to be responsible for people on here with only a basic knowledge experimenting and causing problems. Hope this clears things up.

I have been wondering the same, feemac. Few people seem to have done the last part, which to me seemed the interesting bit with some hands on work. I'll see if I can generate some more interest and then get the last module done.

Hi There
Just wanted to ask before I get started. Is this just a course for fun or are you (dragonmaster) qualified to issue some sort of recognised certificate at the end. I dont want to rain on anyones parade but before I can put time and effort into completing a course I need to know what the end result will be, and what the qualifications of the people teaching and assessing are to be sure I am getting correct information. I also need to know what the completion of the course will qualify me to do in terms of personal use, helping others/animals charging for services etc etc

Very valid question, Barmy. I am qualified to teach what I teach, but I am not (as yet) set up to offer any sort of 'official' qualification in use of essential oils or aromatherapy. This on line course is for fun and to help people feel able to use Essential Oils for themselves and family/horses/ pets. It was also a trial run for something I'm working on to be able to sell via the internet, which is why I offered it free. However it was other DG members felt they should pay something so a donation to IH charity was agreed. When I took my Diploma in Aromatherapy I was very disappointed in how basic it was, and how it was very massage and Beauty Therapy biased. I had been selling Essential Oils to the public through a party plan company for several years (still do, actually) and found that I knew a lot more about oils than they taught on the course. When I said things like "peppermint is good for keeping ants out of your cupboards" they were not interested - because it has nothing to do with massage. All the information I give on this course is perfectly valid, but I have purposely kept it simple and basic. It is a starting point. There would be no point me giving a certificate for completing it as it would not be recognised by anyone. So if you currently know very little about Essential Oils feel free to work through the modules on here. There is no pressure or time limit and I will comment on any posts put up and offer advice. If you then want to go on to take a Diploma at your local College you will have a head start. Completing this course will mean you know how to choose, mix and dilute oils safely, different methods of using oils, why and how they work, what oils are OK for general use and when you need to go to a book for further info; even fully qualified aromatherapists will refer to a book to double check or get more ideas. There is just too much information and too many oils for anyone to carry it all in their head. My qualifications are on my website www.synergyholistictherapies.co.ukI hope this helps and look forward to seeing your work if you decide to go ahead. Kathy

It wasn't me who stopped it was everyone else. For a long while nobody did any of the assignments to module 4 and it seemed as though no-one was interested in continuing. No-one replied when I posted asking if they wanted me to go on. Then a couple did do module 4 assignments but by then we were well into the summer. So as you are wanting to do the rest I will get them done for you, but it will have to be after 10th October as I'm about to go on holiday next week.
