I will be putting up the first lesson soon. To make it easier to read I will put it into several posts. Just read them one after another. Later I will be posting the Assignment to go with this module.

As far as I'm concerned anything posted on the threads is for sharing. If anyone wants to submit any work privately they can email or pm me. I think it can be useful to see what the others think - like sharing discussion in a classroom.

HAHA! I have been so busy these last 48 hours I've only had the quickest glance. I'll be getting a proper look later this evening. Never judge yourself by what others have done.

Hi Everyone, well done on your work. Just one point that applies to all of you... question 1 write a definition of Essential Oils in a SHORT SENTENCE. You all seem to have written a paragraph! Not that any of it is wrong... it is all perfectly correct but not quite what I was aiming for. Just shows what happens when other minds work on something. I do have a one line definition of essential oils in mind. Just to remind you I did say at the begining of module 1 post that there were words in bold that you might want to use. Try stringing a few adjectives together to make something more succinct and have another go. Then I will post what my one line definition is. Did you all manage to find a diagram of a distillation still? I have got one but it won't copy into a thread so I will email it to you all. If you are keeping a computer and/or hard copy file of this work then you should save it into Word and put it in there.

Am blushing - thanks equitansy! But, as dragonmaster says, I didn't follow the assignment for question one - going to see if I can distill (!) that down to one, succinct sentence.
I did find a really good link that shows a diagram of a distillation still. It had moving parts so couldn't put it into my notes - I've created a folder on my favourites for this course and added useful links to it.
I did read other people's work but only after I had submitted mine. I thought everyone's was really good - much more brief and succinct than mine. The OH frequently says I suffer from verbal diorrhea!

Personally I like verbal diaorrhea ( however you spell it and we just spent 5 minutes trying to work it out. Computer spellcheck only gives it in american!) You may have noticed I can be verbose myself! Make your answers as long as you like - except when I specifically ask for a short one! LOL.

By the way, folks, please can you write answers in your own words as far as possible. Just copy and paste from a website doesn't show you really understand the subject.

Hi folks, The sunny weekend has rather got in the way of me writing Module 2. (ride horses up the mountain or sit at the computer??? No contest really!) So for anyone who is raring to get on I've devised little excersise that will help you with Module 3 when it comes along. This will be when we start looking at oils in depth and I thought rather than me just spout information at you we could have an on line discussion then write our own Description of each oil at the end. So I'm going to put up a thread for each of the 4 oils we will be looking at first and I'd like you to write in everything you know about each, start with what you already know, if anything, then do some research on the net and in books if you have any. Bring in any information you can find, no matter how random! But in particular we need to be looking at the properties of each oil; ie what it does and what it can be used for. Also I'd like each of you to find a picture of the plant for each oil with its' Latin name that you can download for your file. Either post me a link to the picture you chose in your work thread or email me the picture. Photo or drawing, it doesn't matter so long as it is recognisable.
