since jimmy arrived with me i have been keeping a diary to look back on and i thought i would share are journey with you ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAY 1 : "well i got to the yard this morning to be greeted by my YO saying she was getting a new horse a problem pony she added a 2 yo welsh d stallion she got from the sales he was coming in 15 Min's and would i help her unload him " well yes i will " i said ,then right on cue an old looking blue horse box drives down our lane with two huge men sitting in the front. the 2 men got out of the lorry and my YO gave them £70 and one of the men looked at the other man and said "well hes a bit frisky so we will get him out for you" my YO agreed. off the men went up the ramp with a lead rope each, they clipped a lead rope on each side of his halter and dragged him down the ramp he was kicking and sweating all over and rearing he was very stressed at this point my YO was hiding behind a car and said "sorry you will have to take him back hes dangerous" so one of the men put him into the school while the other man went into the horse box and made a phone call .................. a phone call to the vet he was going to be put down i sat outside the school watching and dreaming ,there was something about that horse he was stunning something in his eye how could i let him go it was love at first sight SO i bought him and he stayed in that school over night" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- will update later

DAY 2 :
Last night the stunning chestnut horse stayed in the school i didn't want to stress him out more by trying to move him, i went up to the Yard at 6 am the sun was just coming up behind the trees and the frost was just setting in on the grass as i walked up to the school he jumped up and just stood staring at me he was scared. i walked into the feed room and made him a big bucket of chaff and put a huge slice of haylage i put the feed and the haylage into the school he was interested but he didn't trust me yet i just want to run up to him and cuddle him but i new we had to take it slow . i picked up a chair and a copy of horse and rider and went and sat at the side of the school ,he slowly walked up to the feed and haylage and after every mouth full he look up at me . i went into the school with a wheel barrow and started to poo pick he was very weary of me but wanted to play but if i looked at him he would run away , he was a funny little thing he made me laugh at the littlest things . he was very interested in what i was and what i was doing he didn't seam dangerous to wards me despite what people were saying ,i had only known him a few hours but i felt i trusted him. again i pick up my chair and my mag and went and sat in the school watching him prancing and showing off he was becoming more confident by the second he would now wonder up to me and if i held my hand out he would sniff it but them run off . i left him in the school for another night with lots of haylage and a shelter

sorry thought i was boring you just tell me if i am ---------------------------------------------------------------------
DAY 3 :
i woke up this miring and was having breakfast with my mum when she said s"o what you gunna call him then pip" "well ermm am not to sure" i said my mum said "call him something close to your heart" ... "JIMMY yes jimmy he will be called jimmy after granddad" my mum agreed and thought it was a great idea .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i went down to the yard and i was amazed at how Meany people asked how he was going on but i didn't want to talk to them i wanted to be with my new boy jimmy. so armed with my stuffed glove on a lunge whip off i wondered to the school i sat with him on my chair for about 20 Min's be for i started . to day i noted a change in him he was more confident came very close to me was sniffing me and licked me right up my arm so for a horse that has been mistreated most of his life and been unsettled for 2 year i fort it was a big deal . i got my wheel barrow and started to Pooh pick again this time he was very interested in the big green monster on wheel and keep sniffing it and following me around the school. i gave him an apple and to my surprise he took it right from my hand i don't think he had tasted an apple be for as he spat the first bite out and stared to pull faces and stick him taunge out but eat the rest like a pro. he was SO calm so i got my big stick with my stuffed glove on the end and started to rub in on his withers he didn't mind it at all so i rubbed it all down him back and down the fronts of him back legs then it got to his neck he was a little wary about his and ran away but he came back for more so i started at his withers again and very slowly worked my way up to the top of his neck he loved it just under his long wavy but matted mane he not very head shy witch surprised me allot i ended that session on a good note and left him to think about it for another night .

bit of a long one sorry ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAY 4 - the day he made me cry i am so proud of jimmy today he has me in tears and it takes alot to make me cry ..... well i got to the yard and i had got jimmy a new halter from Robinson's that mooring, so like every mooring a got a bucket of food and gave it him while i wondered off to get the wheel barrow from the bottom of the yard and i went around the corner i herd a little Winnie i looked around the corner and jimmy had grown to about 18hh and was staring at me i walked back around the corner and he whinnied again a tear rolled off my face i felt in such a short time he wanted me to be with him for some unknown reason as i walked back up the yard with me wheel barrow he wandered off into the school i walked in with my wheel barrow he ignored his food (witch he loves ) and followed me around the school without thinking twice about the huge bowl of feed sat on the floor behind him. i sat on my chair in the school again and picked up the bowl of feed and put it on my knees and jimmy wanted over after having a good stretch and a huge roll and he started eating his food with out a care in the world. and then to my utter amazement he lyes down beside me with his mussel rested on my boot at this point i had big black smudges all down my face i was in love with this pony i knew at that point he was with me for life. after i pulled my self together i picked up Jimmy's new leather halter and started to rub it on his withers ,at this point he would let me scratch him all over his back and right up his neck and loved his face rubbed, he didn't mind me rubbing him with he halter at all so i undid all the straps on the halter and and placed the nose band over his nose and held it there for about 5 seconds and then took it off then i held it on for longer just pulling a little bit of pressure onto his nose he didn't mind at all he was a little confused i think ,i took it off his nose and put the head piece behind his ears and held it on like i did with th nose band and also put a little pressure onto his poll so he didn't freak when i put the full halter on and he was fine with this . i left him for a few hours and went home to think things throw and let him have some "jimmy time " about 7 at night it was just going dark so i put the flood lights on there was no one at all on the yard only a few chickens knocking about i walked into the school and i came trotting over we had a grooming time and then i picked up the halter again and this time with the nose dun up but loosed i put his muzzle into the halter and he dint care at all so i put the head piece onto his poll and fas send it up keeping it very loose but so he could feel a little pressure. he was still very contented and i feel very eager to learn about his human ad how we do thing around this place i started to walk into his chest and put a little pressure with my fingers onto his chest and say go back jimmy he moved away from the pressure and i steeped back as soon as he did and gave him a rub and repeated this again and he went back i did this a few more time and he seam to understand what i was asking him to do we kept sessions short and sweet but i didn't fully understand how cleaver horses were until i met him and how quick learners they can be and how they can come from the sales and in a few day trust there hunman like Jimmy did with me, he is such a sweet horse and so trusting but he is so cleaver and maybe he could get a little to cleaver if the boundary's arnt set now . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- sorry for the horrid punch and spelling i got a U in english at school

Dont worry about the spelling, we can read it and more importantly 'feel' what your feeling. You have a talent for writing, just let it flow, Jimmy is lucky to have you and you him, please tell us more.
