Iceberg - thank you! That might be an option!
Know what you mean about convincing others he's not evil....I do that on a daily basis (yet to handle everyone loves him!)

I wish you all the best Trouble. Just read your other post some things to look for: Stretching like a cat when turned out or in stable running his teeth along metal objects ie stable doors /bars reluctance /real bad tempered if you touch his sides ears back /biting when girth is done up reluctance to really strech out when canterin /galloping ( my vet described it as a 'Bambi canter of course he may have non of these symtoms or all and still not have ulcers - but they are fairly 'classic' symptoms so just something to be aware of.xxx

Hmmmm...just read something else - that one of the visible symptoms can be stretching to, or difficulty urinating....

I wouldn't medicate him at all until you have had the scope done, if it is an ulcer then you want it to show up on the test!

Thanks Iceberg that's really helpful...the canter thing is interesting - I've always joked that he is too 'poncy' to really go for it in canter/gallop - we call it his show pony galloping, but yes he is very reluctant to stretch out in canter and will buck if pushed to do so.
He doesn't get snappy at the girth being done up but he has just started showing signs of walking away from mme if I appear holding tack.
VERY bad tempered when you put leg on his sides.
And yes he does often stretch like a cat!

Oh bless him:-( Good luck at the vets with the scope - sorry I can't help. It is good that the vet is thinking along the same lines as you - ulcers are getting much more thought of nowadays.

Have you asked your vets about transport. When Billy had to go up to the vets with his fracture i got the equine ambulance for my area to do it. It didnt cost me too much extra. It is a trailer but it will fit most size horses.
I hope it all works out well for you. It sound like you have been through it and then back again!!
