Hi All, Thought I would pop in and add to the French rescue horses board. Have three now four, foal born July this year. Will put in the album as so many photos. s176.photobucket.com/albums/w161/clicktocapture/Two of the pics are of retired family ponies Rana and Jess, Rana pts recently, RIP Rana, x The other rescues are all three and under, Bonny and Quatre are three and Suzi believe it or not is only 1 this year. Quatre has sweet itch and a small sarcoid on her abdomen, Suzi is well.. ,just going to be big ! and Bonny is an excellent mum despite her very young age , gave birth easily and quickly thank goodness. ;D

Hi, Quatre arrived in January this year, Bonny and Suzi arrived in march this year. They have all made amazing progress. All very nervous, as you would expect, Quatre has a determination about her, she is wilfull and loves life, going to be very forward going, and not a plod cob, she is brave and loves attention. The sweet itch has made it far more hard work, than it could have been, but she is settled now and allows me now to put various remedies on to relieve her. The ears she was always very sensitive about. Suzi, malnourished and full of tapeworm, I have been astounded by the amount of tapeworm a filly so young had stored ( if ever anyone wanted to eat horse meat, that would really have put them off), as soon as she was wormed. she grew, and I mean really grew, from the pathetic little foal with huge joints and no muscle or flesh, Suzi really caught up, Suzi was fed the minimum as I was concerned about colic, but grass and worming have been what she needed. Bonny, we will never know, but very likely she was transported from spain to france, as a batch, put in foal on a fattening farm or possibly already in foal before she arrived there, and was ultimatly due to go to Italy, she is a sweet mare with a lot of issues she is learning to trust and has trusted us with her foal from the moment she gave birth, we feel very touched that only after a few months of knowing us, she could trust us that much, knowing she had been through so much in a very short life. Rocky: Bonnys foal is a delight, so sensible, the only boy here at the moment, he is obviously reliant on his mum, as he is only three months old, but showing already an independant character, he is probably far more confidant than his mum is,, he has not been through quite as much as bonny has and has the security of a good start in life.
