OMG!! Just when things were starting to look a lot happier, this goes and happens! I'm glad you're both OK and I think you were remarkably restrained under the circumstances. I hope you have some luck with the Maire.

Thanks for your support, everyone. Well, we're getting over this now though I realise that my confidence has been shaken. I wanted to go out for a ride yesterday as it was a lovely day but didn't feel like taking a horse on our lanes alone.... :/ Hmm, going to have to get myself over that one somehow. Hubby and I have started preparing the ground at the Mairie - we were out at a party with the deputy Maire last night, amongst a few of the other villagers, and recounted what had happened. So we're trying to drum up some local support to have something done about this lane. Lutine's wounds have been a bit weepy but apart from that, she's seems fairly Ok at the moment (she's been having bute for the lymphangitis, which could help any bruising but also mask any pain or stiffness) Anyway, I let the girls into our big summer pasture today for an hour or so and they all had a whale of a time, blasting about and munching on plants. It was good for everyone's morale! Thanks again.

oh my god
I was reliving this with you as I read it - not knowing how it was going to end and thinking of the run of bad luck you've had - and I am sick to the pit of my stomach.
thoughts and hugs to you and Lutine (and the rest of the menagerie)
