Just had a text from a friend who's stuck on the M40 in stand still traffic in the fast lane and seen 6 horses and a foal gallop flat out past heading straight for the M25!!!!!
They've just gone past Junction 1 on the M40, so heading South bound
The police are trying to reverse after them, but not having any luck!!!!!!!

Slow traffic between M40; Buckinghamshire northbound between M25, Buckinghamshire [M40 junction 1A] and A355, Buckinghamshire [M40 junction 2] M40 Buckinghamshire - Slow traffic northbound between J1A M25 and J2, Beaconsfield, because of animals on road.
Just swiped this from the travel news site....

Hope someone did contact Helen: She's the best person by far in the area. Would like to hear all OK ASAP. Rather a lot of horses killed on roads in the last month or so.

Just spoken to Helen. She is aware of horses (apparently 12 Shires) & is advising Police who contacted her.

I drove past there about an hour ago and there were no problems, so hopefully all caught.

Last thing I heard on the radio, all horses/ponies were safe back in their field unharmed.
