Normally Nothing, They both know the sound of mine and OH car horns so one blast when I get there and they will come galloping up the field to meet us. I can then open the gate and they will follow me in and will go straight into there stables. (If stable doors are shut they stand by the feed room in hope! :-) )
My mare will follow me round like a puppy if I let her and will stand like a rock so I can do anything with her with no headcollar just verbal commands.
I have a couple of Normal Headcollars to tie up for farriers etc.
They are both so good, I'm so lucky. :-)

I've voted for the roap haltler whatever that is, (just recognised the Parelli - meaning rope halter...;-)
but only use it when in unusual places or need the longer 22ft rope which I've attached to it semi-permanently.
Everyday I use my faithful leather halter I bought from the USA in 2000! Gorgeous quality, cleans up really nicely, very comfy for my horse with the cheek catchclip rather than buckle which is a pain to use.
Can't abide the nylon headcollars with their uncomfy feel on horse's skin, feel rough on my own! They always look dirty unless washed within an inch of their life and the buckles/catches are annoying to me...and usually look frayed and need replacing. Think leather looks smart on any horse, know it would break if need be traveling, and it's been better value for money in the long run...and hey, maybe I'm old fashioned and don't want to colour coordinate my horse like everyone else around me!

I use anything and everything, depending on what I am doing and what comes to hand. Usually use cheapo nylon h/c for the girls and leather for the boys.

I use a rope halter for training mostly, it is as harsh as the hands using it, but i use an ordinary headcoller for most other things.

Can't vote as it depends on the need.
Mostly I use 'shooing' or 'oy come with me.' After that, a normal head collar may be needed to hold for the EP or vet. I ride and long rein in a Dually. I have just learned to do some single line work, so I use an old Parelli head collar and a Richard Maxwell long line, as they are the lightest I can find, for that.

Normal headcollar and one of those longer, stronger thorogood leadropes. Connor used to be a prolific chewer of leadropes and the normal ones couldnt stand it - we were replacing them far too often! We got the thorogood one in the hope it would be stronger but it seems it's not as tasty either as he's not chewed in much at all!
Headcollar wise, we've nver needed anything with more control - a rope round the neck is perfectly fine but I'm not sure YO would think it safe and we need something to tie up with.

I use a normal headcollar for everyday handling and a dually for groundwork training.

Dually halter for riding on its own or over a bridle and bit, particularly starting out, lead work, longlining and tying. I leave a normal leather headcollar in the tack room just in case of emergencies. Find the dually very versatile and most useful of all halters to date on most gee gees or to have handy in my car for the odd bolshy escapeeee
