Well of course, I was biased when Portuguese rider Luciana Dinas, won the other night, too as Portugal is my second home!!
I remember Jessica when she was a nipper in Northern Ireland, she was a friend of my niece (in law) over there. I had a show jumper which my niece bought from Jessica's Father!

I was busy moaning to my hubby about how much strain the horses are under doing such a huge jump .... he was snoring at the time cos he finds it soooo boring.
THEN i said ... now that horse is sooo relaxed and look at the rider ... he is fantastic.... that jump is almost no effort.
It was William!!
I nearly bought a house next door the whittakers a few years ago ... just think I could have been in their trailer of an evening supping for yorkshire.
This can only be a dream now!!! sigh
They are a great family arnt they.

I was really pleased for Tim Stockdale - love his horse - Corletto? Or similar! But yes brilliant round from Robert - and now they will all have a few months rest - roll on the Olympics:-)

Robert's win yesterday was good too wasn't. I also have been most impressed by the Swedish girl - Marlin Bayard-?? - every time I have seen her ride, she has looked lovely and her horses go really well for her.

Marlin has the one horse I would run around the world in 24 hours for, Butterfly Flip. I have always ALWAYS loved that horse, and will be one sad day when she gets retired. Marlin is a beautiful rider, and works so well with her horses to achieve her best.

I watched the Puissance on the TV.
Just love Ciaran O'Connor's Casper - now there is a gorgeous horse (prob cos he reminds me so much of Milton).
I thought William Whitaker was amazing, a true inspiration and so very well deserved.
Now Robert Whitake - he gets great results, though in the Puissance I kinda felt uncomfortable watching it with him, each round, he did something different, he changed the bit, he put his spurs back on, then he got out his whip.
I just wondered if the horse was just not feeling himself that night, was perhaps tired from the Six Bar and coming to end of a busy season. I almost wondered if Robert would retire the horse cos he was not really flowing and was lacking that zest he usually has.
As everyone else has said the Whitakers are amazing.
I think we'll have a few contenders from the Whitaker dynasty for 2012 - for sure!
I have yet to watch the rest of Olympia (got it taped!).

I was at Olympia with my daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed the night.
Very impressed with William's riding (not so much with some of the others we saw). You could have heard a pin drop when William approached the wall for the final time and the noise after when it was clear that it had remained standing, was deafening. Daughter recorded it on her mobile phone.
We walked back to our hotel afterwards (made a weekend of it for shopping/lights ect) and retired to the bar.
Daughter couldn't believe her eyes when sometime later all the Whittakers walked in! Followed by quite a few of the other riders and Geoff Billington. She kept trying to persuade me to ask them for their autographs but I insisted we left them alone to enjoy their drinks.
The next evening she did pluck up courage to ask for Geoff Billington's autograph and a couple of the German riders. Sadly the Whittakers didn't appear - too busy celebrating at Olympia on the last night I should think.
