I wouldn't go for her, but Ive already said that to you!! I'm not liking that Hanni either that Megnum has put up, if the foals a full brother then i wouldn't touch that either. I'm a picky sod though lol!! I do think she looks like she probably has a gorgeous personality though, bless her!!

I'm a sucker for Spots too Smudge - always wanted a horse to match my dalmations. Got excited for a second when you said Knabstrub but took one look and thought no. Not expert enough to say why but i'm sure other people have put their finger on it. sorry.

Liking the spots, but thats about it im afraid! Depends what you are looking for, if she has the right personality/attitude then what difference does her overall conformation make. Take another picture in a year or so and she may look like a completely diferent horse.

Does nothing for me, shoulder to upright, neck way to short, hind legs not too good, way to straight to hock and pasterns quite long. Plus side she's spotty, but this is unfortuantly what happens when people breed for colour.

hummm i do find it worrying the amount of spotty ponies about with 'not great' confirmation. i love spotties and we have had a couple but you have to look through a lot to find a good one im affraid.
as for the horse in question i like her head! she looks a nice little soul but i dont think she will ever be much more than a happy hacker (which of course is just what somebody wants of her). but i would buy her if i was looking.

Smudge, I spent about 6 months his year looking for my perfect spotted horse, I looked at A LOT of horses, from weanlings to 4 yr olds, and found NOTHING with conformation that fitted my criteria. The only one I found was by fleetwater opposition and a 2 yr old, the only spotty by the sire. He was all the way in Scotland and as a 2 yr old was not only 6k, but also 16.1hh now, to mature about 17hh (way to big), had he been a hand smaller, I would have found the money for him somehow. Well made spotties are very few and far between, so good luck finding one thats the complete package. I'm still looking, and if I happen to stumble accross one then I will purchase, but have nearly given up hope of finding something quality.

Smudge, when you get a horse with striking markings, you need to get someone to photo-touch it plain if you can't imagine it. You need to see the real shape of the horse, not just the colour. That little filly has grim conformation, but would probably be all right as a carriage or draft horse when she is fully grown. She's also not very well spotted compared to a pure Klad-whatever. I want a spotty Luso, but I am going to do what Sarah is going to do with her grey boy, and paint on the colour I fancy. She's having pink, I'm having spotty, with hair extensions.

Nice, but perhaps too old for what you're looking for?

The filly has a nice face and kind eye but that's as far as it goes for me. Her neck is what would put me off most, I doubt she'd be able to carry self properly especially as she looks to be heavy through the jowels too.
Agree totally with Sue about looking at the horse in a different colour. I love coloureds and spotties but there are soooo many people breeding for colour alone. Conformation should be one of the first things to consider when breeding but flashiness seems to have taken over. When ever you look at a horse try and imagine what 'stamp' you want, hunter, riding horse, sport horse and then then see if the coloured horse fits your image after you photoshop it to a bay!

You can hire out my spotty for a day though ;D You're just a trouble maker - your pone is the reason we *all* want spotties - he's beautifully marked with excellent conformation and a fantastic attitude.

for me she is very immature *short back *ewe neck *big belly *no hind muscles *long pasterns *still growing might make a nice hacking/distance horse with the correct training I'd think. the belly just makes her look very strange

Yes, well, if you gave him to me kpick I wouldn't have to keep looking... wicked woman I have another in mind. A 2 year old Skewbald at Embla Stud... I've kind of fallen in love with him (by the same sire as my filly) but I am refusing to make a snap decision. I am going to take my time looking
