Hey Guys, A thousand apologies for being slow, my laptop blew up at the weekend, so I am on the kids pc, which is soooo slow you would not believe it !! Anyhow, Nelson has not had a very good week. I'm not sure if it is the cold snap we are having, or maybe just a glitch in the healing, I'm not sure.... Am racking my brains everyday to get it right again, but can't get him back to me just yet.....he has lost weght , if that is possible, so not sure where I am right now..... Anyone out there who does healing, please do send a little to poorly Nelson, he needs a little 'pick me up' again.......... Thanks for thinking of us L

Oh lioness, sorry to hear Nelson has taken a step backwards but you know what they say, one forward and two back, I am sure it is the cold weather just making him feel a little miserable. Lots of Hugs and thinking of you both lots.

Lioness I hope this week's just a slight hiccup & he looks brighter again soon. I'm still sending you both lots of hugs & best wishes & hope it is just the cold weather getting him down. Can you rug him against the weather or isn't that possible with grass sickness? If it would help you I may be able to lend you one or two large (6'6" - 7') rugs - PM me if they'd be useful.

Thanks Naria and PP, your well wishes are greatly appreciated by all of us..... We have turned him out on a small patch of good grass for a couple of hours per day, I don't know if this ha set his back, or if is is just the weather..... Thank you x 1000 for the kind thoughts of your rugs, he does have some indoor rugs, we chop and change between trying to get the right mix between the Thermatex type and the fleece ones, he sweats so badly this week, I am more worried about pneumonia than ever, I'm never sure what to do for the best, he can't provide his own heat, and yet manages to sweat all day...... ho hum...... heres for a better weekend for the poor little chap ! thinking of you and Nelson, like all of us most probably feel.....I wish there was something we could do! I cannot even give you any advice as I do not know enough.
hope this week is a better one, and if there is anything you need let us all know on here, as we will do whatever we can.

just a thought but would it be any help to place a heat lamp in a corner of his stable? reasons being that you could just keep a light weight rug on him or a sweat and he can move under the lamp if he is cold or just needing extra warmth, i have just got one for my very old goat and i think it will be the best investment i get this year, as i think we may have lost her this winter as its so cold!
i got mine from mole valley for £22 + £3.50 for the 250 wat bulb
and you guys are always in my thoughts. xxx

Hey Guys, Thanks for thinking of us..... Nelson hasn't been great this last week, I think his throat has become more paralysed, his breathing is very odd and lays down a lot. I don't know exactly what is happening right now, but its been 3 months and he still can't/won't drink water, eat hay or graze properly. However he is eating most of the feed/soup we put down, and taking all of his supplements and homeopathic remedies. I'd be very interested to hear how Rosie the other GS sufferer is doing ?? Thanks for helping, here's hoping for the best Chrimbo prezzie ever....... Nelson feeling better..... Thanks L

Have only just caught up with this thread and the photos of such a beautiful boy reduced to being so frail have left me in tears. All my best wishes coming your way that he can hopefully pull through for you and go on to have a good quality of life.
