L thanks for posting at what must be an horrendous time for you and your Boy if Love and Best wishes could make him well you have all of mine a little something for you:-
Sometimes in Life when things are tough And obstacles are put in your way Reach out your hand And then understand that your Angel Is with you each Day.
There are lessons in Life That we all need to learn That may give us an ache in the Heart But have faith in the Love That is always around And know you are playing your part.
The hard times will go The sun will soon shine And seeds you have sown will now grow For your soul is so good And Gold like the Sun Sometimes in life when things are tough And its Love enhances the Glow.

Thanks FN for that lovely message, I'm going to print it of and put it in his stable, not sure how well he reads, but he might be able to 'feel' the message...... He's still hanging in there. 1 step forward and 3 steps back, he shared a bag of crisps and a kit kat with me this afternoon, that is progress as far as I am concerned !!! Thanks all L

Thanks for taking the time to update us, I keep checking this thread to see if there's any more news.
Sharing a bag of crisps & a kit kat sounds good to me, one of the few good reasons I can think of for sharing chocolate!
Best wishes to you both, I don't do Reiki but I'm sending you good thoughts anyway.

Hi Guys, He is having a very bad couple of days right now, after a really great improvement over the weekend. We've had an Holistic Vet do acupuncture and some Reiki via here and another lady in Scotland, but, I don't know he looks more like a greyhound, still won't eat grass or hay, does eat some of the 'hot soups' we make, the pooping is very slow still. Its been 6 and a half weeks now, I thought he would be getting back to at least to some sort of normal life, but no, not yet..... The lady woth Rosie, I'd be interested to know everything that you are feeding or supplementing her with..... Any positive thoughts you folks can send his way, will always be greatfully appreciated. L

Im unsure if theres someone else with a horse called rosie suffering from grass sickness but ours is called rosie to..
We are mixing up 4 scoops of hifibre cubes(we had also been doing 2 hi fibre and 2 alfalfa pellets, but with the laminitis we have had to do away with the alfalfa pellets... But in your circummstances, you probably could use the alfalfa pellets) with on cup of blue chip, and a cup of seeweed mixed into a bit bucket of cold water, then leaving it for about 4 hours, then we take 1 - 2 scoops of the the mix and add 2 boiled kettles, she is eating 2 at 7.20am, another 2 around 12, another 2 at 2pm, then 2 at 4.30, and 2 and 9pm, she also has soaked hay now. other than what ive mentioned thats all shes getting due to her suffering from mild laminitis now!! Hope thats of help to you!!! :-)

Gee thanks guys, your support really keeps us going ! you must be doing something, as he had a much better day today. Last night he was really bad, I laid in the stable with the wind and the rain howling around us, I chat and sing (Robbie's-Angels and Alecia Keys-If I Ain't Got You With Me are the only ones I know all through), and I say the poem above a few times to him, as its up in his stable now. He just laid flat out and looked like he had given up. He had his shoes taken off today and a trim, I had to hold him up as he felt so weak he could not stand on 3 legs for very long..... But today, totally different ! Keen to go for his walk, and eating some of his feeds. he still can't/won't eat grass or hay. But at least he is interested. he had a cheeky look in his eye today, the wind got up his tail while walking and he even managed a little trot !! ;D I wish he would start to do things like a horse again, there is no chance of him being turned out or living any kind of life like he used to, but as long as he has more good days than bad, and I can see that spark in his eye some days, then there is a chance...... Thanks to the lady with Rosie, we are doing very similar feeds, we have about 4 different bags we use in case he goes of one ! I hadn't thought about the seaweed, but I will look into it. I'm still liquidizing apples, carrots and bread to add into the feeds to keep him interested as well. Its a vile disease, I can't believe there is still no cure after 100 years, I wish I could post a photo to show you a 'before and after', you would not believe he is the same horse...... Thanks for the continued support and advise... will keep you posted..... L
