Title: Riding Towards The Light Author: Paul Belasik Publisher: J A Allen ISBN-10: 0851315097 ISBN-13: 978-0851315096
Quite simply the most inspirational read I've had in a long time.
A philosophical look at horses, classical riding as well as how classical techniques have developed through the ages, it is also the story of Paul's personal journey through horsemanship.
I can't recommend it highly enough.
There are two sequels, Exploring Dressage Technique and Songs of Horses which are equally good (alternatively you could simply get The Essential Paul Belasik which is a compilation of all three).
Paul has also published a dressage manual - Dressage for the 21st Century - but this is out of print and very difficult to get hold of.

Agree with this completely.
And it also made me realise where I had gone wrong with the initial training of my present horse. Not that he is ruined, it is just that he could have been better, and a lot earlier rather than at 10.
I saw Dressage for the 21st Century on ebay last November for £10, I didn't buy it as I had asked a book dealer to find me one and thought I might be bidding against her. Needless to say, she hadn't found one for me, so I missed a real bargain. There is a copy in my local library that I am always borrowing.
