Ride the Right Horse (understanding the core equine personalities & how to work with them) by Yvonne Barteau.
Just started reading this, but looks interesting.
The author has identified four core personality types in horses (social, fearful, aloof and challenging) and she goes into how to identify and best work with horses in these various groups.

That sounds interesting Garry. From memory Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling has done a similar thing in terms of identifying characteristics from breeds, colours etc. Whether he then drilled that down into four core personality types or not I don't know TBH. But will keep an eye out for the book you mention, thanks for that.

that sounds a really intresting one Garry.........i wonder which group swall fits into? ? shes abit bi polar i think, so may be more than one group depending on how the mood takes her!
