I do not think that anyone is unaware of how upsetting it is for Jackiedo's horses at all.I hope the matter has been resolved for her. I think what people objected to was that the thought that it should have beendown to the people who helped the french horses come over here, who should have had the colts arranged to be gelded. In my opinion it is down to whoever has the colt /colts now.Is the owner of the colt aware of the problem?
This is a an minefield for opinions. I am glad that I have got my horses, although they are a lot more complicated than I anticipated, however they are with me for life. And I would like to thank Sarah fox and the others invloved in the rescue for the work they did. Before them I hadnt realised the scale of horses that go from the uk to be slaughtered so I have joined the hoof it campaign to help how I can. If I was ever in a position to rescue again, which I certainly wont be, I would rescue from here. At the end of the day I still cannot believe how many horses are slaughtered in the uk alone, and how many are sold at sales/markets for the meat man.....

I would presume that Jackie has spoken to the owner. I most certainly would have done. I wonder whether the owner is responsible enough to own colts ? Another bizarre comment Do you know the owner then? If Jackie has spoken to the owner then why would she post a thread asking for the colt/s to be castrated, especially when the owner doesn't even come on here I am sure jackiedo herself said the owner was very nice and cared for the horses very well....guess she would have to if he is her yard owner No one would be bothered if jackiedo hadn't kindly said that the French rescue wasn't properly organised etc Jackiedo had nothing to do with it and no one other than the people involved have any idea of what we acheived.....so kindly keep your uninformed opinions to yourself

My opinion Mellissa is exactly the same as any mare owners would be, that French or otherwise, I would not want to unexpectedly find an uncut colt, or stallion belonging to someone else in my field with my mares. If I did, I would seriously question the ability of the owner to manage their animal competently.
In my opinion whether the horse is French, Latvian, Welsh, or otherwise is totally immaterial, a fact that you seem unwilling or unable to grasp!

Actually, if entires are kept by responsible owners who know what they are doing ,accidents don't happen. "Accidents " like this only happen through ignorance, or because the owner couldn't care less. I still wonder why they have not been gelded at rising two?

We might find out if jackiedo reports back what the owner of the colt says.

I fully sympathise with jackiedo and her mares. However she did have a dig at the people/person who funded/organised the *French rescues* even though she had nothing to do with it. Obviously that is going to get peoples backs up isn't it! I don't mean to be rude tl but your opinion doesn't concern me as it wasn't you who started the original thread titled "French Rescues"

It seems to me Melissa that anyone's opinion that doesn't coincide with your own will be considered unimportant.
If French rescue is a sacrosanct subject so be it, but colt and stallion management isn't, and it is an area of horse management that needs to be done competently.

8-)Oh so you know this colt do you Melissa? Just for the record 15 months IS rising 2 and well overdue for cutting.
As you know the colt in question, can you shed some light as to why it hasn't been gelded yet?

sorry to learn today that a few french rescue horses are now in the hands of notorious traveller dealers. GOD HELP THEM A SECOND TIME
