Hello!
Wendy, what's an IHTS? It's not trying to be like that French Connection range of wear that shocks dyslexic grannies, is it?
Anyway, by the by, anybody live near Paris? Where are you all located? I know where Wendy is, but the rest of you?
Sorry about my bad manners. I have posted on General but not really introduced myself properly. Steph living in Maisons-Laffitte barefooting loony thanks to Wendy, ah, what else, have a large horse with no shoes on his feet at all... he is brown... he is "stabled", I use that term in the loosest sense, at la Cense where I am learning cowboy tricks... again that's because of Wendy. Thanks, Wendy!

Hey Steph, you found us then! LOL No one else lives near Paris with their horses - there's only you that barmy! You know the saying 'you don't have to be mad to [live] here, but it certainly helps' The IHTS was a set of special letters to use after my name bestowed by Kelly - I hadn't realised the French Connection... maybe Kelly was trying to tell me something and I completely missed it. ROFL

Hey Steph - WELCOME! :-)
I heard ALL about you from Peter Laidely last week hahaha - or more correctly, about your horse. You are a STAR!
'Fraid I'm down in the great South West too. There's about 10 of us down in this part of the world, posting on an on and off basis.
PS - It's taken me 3 YEARS to find out what the IHTS means, you need to come up with at least 100 suggestions before Wendy gives in and tells you ;D

Blimey that is humbling... PL saved me and my horse, as did Wendy and a few others I might add (but mostly PL obviously, and Wendy)
Thanks for the welcome marianne, very nice indeed. I think I have snooped around your website, if you are the person I think you are... how many times have you hosted PL? Wish he could see Amicus right now, he would be well chuffed (but perhaps not too surprised!)
"Intelligent Horsemanship Terminal Sufferer"
"Intelligent Horsemanship Tippy-top Superwoman"
oh, I don't know... do I really have to guess a hundred times?

Marianne is mostly posting on an ON basis... (though I admit 'pot kettle black' might apply here) but with the suggestions - yes, the truth lies somewhere between those two

I haven't hosted any PL clinic - I just attend ;D

Don't worry, I'm not in the least bit disappointed, just intrigued.
So you have recently embarked on shoeless? Isn't PL just gr8??? My horse has never been better and I never would have dared to go bf without Wendy to just be there on the other end of the phone... plus she came out to us a few times. I feel very blessed really when I think about it... hence the "lucky" in my name.

Hi there Carli, that's exciting -- somewhere in my neck of the woods. Woods being the operative word. I live on the edge of the St Germain forest, in Maisons-Laffitte. Where do you live exactly?

I live north west of Paris in a small town clled EAUBONNE, it is just beside Enghien les Bains. Have you heard of it ?
No possibility to have a horse here as very built up that is why he is so far away, I spend hours in the car each day which is such a waste of time.
Nice to have met you (virtually speaking)
regards

Chantilly. Wow, you are getting closer to me! I'm not in France so I hope you won't mind me coming on here - I'm about 30 km north of the French/Belgium border - but things equine are very much the same over here (most our vets go to France to get horsey stuff, barefoot etc. online discussion boards cross the border).
Steph, I don't know if you remember me. You were a great support when I was worried about my lad's barefoot transition (so was Wendy). La Cense is another place where most "IH" belgian people end up going. A bit too expensive for me, but it must be great fun and they have stunning QHs for sale.

Val, I most certainly do remember you and am very glad to be back in touch. I have often wondered about you because we have a new AANHCP trimmer coming to do our few barefoot horses at la Cense, he is called Richard Walz and he is from oop north o'France so could he also be your guy? He spreads himself rather thin, so to speak, we really appreciate him coming to us as he seems to have more horses than most people could handle.
Now when I say Amicus is at la Cense, he is, and you can thank Wendy for that... but we are on a slightly cheaper ticket being at the far end of the establishment away from the really posh mounts... Amicus does not mind in the least as he is in a larger field with his lady-friend.
Hope all your horses are doing well!

Ah well, you'll have to say hi to Richard from me next time you see him and I'll do the same In other words, he's my trimmer indeed. He's originally from Reims but has already moved his horses 20 mins. away from me. He's talking about doing a "paddock paradise" livery in the area, which would be perfect but I'm a little worried about the price (unless I can get a cheaper ticket). I followed a week-end course this summer so that I can trim in between visits because as you say, he's spreading himself a lot. Amicus must be quite happy at La Cense. Are you there to stay if you don't mind me asking? Sounds so great. My horses are doing well. Toons feet are not as sound as I'd like them to be but Richard and I agree that as long as he's on cow pastures, we won't be able to do much better. He mainly needs boots for hacking, whatever the going but he's fine 'naked' in the field or on smooth tarmac. As for Spirit, he's inherited his mum's cushings but hasn't really got the symptoms yet (he's only 4) and right now he's just a little kevin.

Hey!! We share a trimmer! That's great. I'd love a paddock paradise livery nearer me, I know of someone in Chantilly area setting up his own paddock paradise but not taking liveries.
Will be staying for the foreseeable at la Cense, despite the miles it's putting on my clock (car clock I mean), because Amicus is so settled with his girlfriend. Any time you 'd like to visit you are welcome to stay with me and come immerse yourself in this NH haven.
Going by a recent post of yours in General, Spirit sounds like he was well named!! Btw, I had not heard of Cushings in such a young thing.
