Grendon, the horse was indeed in the for sale section. Having spoken to the NV admin and mods before including him in our rescues - actually they called me because I don't even look at the 'for sale' section - I can give you details of why and how this horse came to be at a meat farm if you're interested, though somehow I doubt it.
The horse was placed there as he is rather expensive compared to other meat prices. Why? Because he is enormous, in fact he costs less than the meat value. The centre he was at has had problems and things are indeed being tied up, however the reason he is with the meat man is because the centre had bought horses from the meat man and not been paid. This horse and a couple of others are in lieu of payment before the centre-guy goes bust. The meat man therefore wants to recover what he is owed and has not weighed him. Had he done so he would be worth more probably.
I don't know many dealers who have a full time job and work at nights to find homes for their horses - making no money whatsoever, running up ridiculously high phone bills... if that's your definition of a dealer - yes we are.

hi iwillbuy, he is at same place i got amour , grendon,i had been trying to get him before he ended up there but failed, ok so his price went up but atleast we tracked him down again, it would go up alot higher if he was weighed. as for dealing, im not a dealer to anyone else, whether i decide to buy and sell any personally would be my business not that i would hide it. as for a dealer to anything we dont own, no we are cerytainly not and i echo Lucy

hi lisa, just would like to say well done all us that know the ins and out of this french situation know why you have done this and are proud of you like others have said given his size it wouldnt of been long for him to be taken in the wrong truck. i cant understand how people who i presume are into horses can come on here spending there time picking holes or being nasty instead of doing something constuctive to help these lovley animals..
but just to clafiry its a big big well done for saving him.. , wish i lived nearer would love to have come and met them.

Wow, what a special person! Do you know anything about his background? It doesn't fail to amaze me how many of these horses are so trusting, so accepting, given what many of them have been through.
Looking at those feet, I do hope your fields are braced for the winter! Can you imagine them in a muddy gateway. You brave girl, Lisa!
