Is it possible we can pay for her - not sure how this done, so she doesnt go on the meat lorry, then hopefully we should have a little more time to get her transport costs?

Just to say thank you to everyone who has donated to the fund - - the total through the dedicated fund is £550 + £135 Gift Aid (which takes some time to come through) PLUS £180 + Gift Aid paid direct to EMW through our main Just Giving page which will be added into the total.

Copied from other thread. I don't know if this helps anyone but I went to my vet today and asked excatly what one has to do to get a horse to UK. He said he wasn't sure and phoned all the relevent people/dept for me (a really nice man).
Well this is what you need:
1. the horse must have a chip. 2. the horse must have identifcation papers. 3. you then ring the Service Exportation and ask for the DSV (direction des services vetinaire(sp?) 4. you will need to tell them the address of departure for horse and address of destination. 5. You also need the licence plate number of the transport vehicale. 6. they then prepare transport papers/export licence (as I said) -this only takes a couple of days or they will do it there and then if you actually go there. 7. when you have recieved papers, just before you leave a vet needs to sign off the horse to say it is fit for travel.
You don't need any vaccinations etc.
However he did say to make sure one should ring Dover or other port.
This information comes from the dept of vet services.
I only have the number for the one in the Aveyron Rodez 05 65 73 40 50. You have to ring the one in the dept where the horse is.
This should only take a couple of days.
Hope this helps. PS sorry I can't donate at this time but I am really struggling myself at the moment.

Oh my god (or anybody else's for that matter!). You guys are just stunning......phoning Trina now. She knows someone who is picking up two mares before the weekend - I know we're further down for Cybelle to travel but Trina has offered to have her at her place until transport/paperwork is all arranged! Drat, she's engaged!!!!
