Hi Allyny, yeah she does seem to be content, well I hope so anyway! Not sure if she has ever been ridden, I do hope to although think it may be a long way off yet however as she is only 8 and apparently their average life span is 27 we have plenty of time, I hope!!! Glad you like the photo's! Brill that your move went well and just think in a couple of weeks that will be it you will be one of us lucky people living in France permanently!!!!!! Will keep my fingers crossed that your babies get over without problems. Let me know once you are settled in.
Lolly, thanks for those kind words it really helps to know that she is looking good to others and not just me!!
Swallowsmum, Thanks I really hope she is happy in her new home because I sure am!!!!!

Hi Tia,
Thanks fr hat however not sure if it is Lancia that is lucky to have me! think I'm lucky to have her still can't believe I own a Percheron!!!!
We love it out here plenty of space and easy going lifestyle, language can be a bit of a pain on occasions, more so on the phone but hey still love it! We actually thought about it for approx 2years before making the move however during that time we were here nearly every month or at least a week.

I think thats a really major thing, morse! means you can treat her for desired behaviour now too! I find it difficult with my 3 as the best reward they get is a wither scratch, well at least we have moved on from it being when I move away! They are considering treats now, bonita will take them happily as she is a wee gannet, but elly and guiness have only got so far as taking them from their bowls, even that took weeks! So well done! I know just how you must feel! btw, sorry I missed your earlier compliment,I wasnt being deliberately rude!thank you for your kind words!

Thought I would just give a quick update on how Lanica and I are getting on. Some of you know that I rescued her 3months ago just after I had my GSD put to sleep. I had real difficulties with getting her to trust me and allow me to do anything with her including pick her feet up initially. She did start to trust me enough to let me groom her, eventually get her mane and tail untangled although we still struggled to pick her feet up. Then a breakthrough she started to pick her front feet up, Thanks to Trina for helping to get her to do that. However we had to come home and she was a nightmare with her back feet. Some of you already know I have now got a wonderful chap helping us(Richard aka drivinghorses) he has been around 5 times in the last 8days and has worked with both Lancia and myself. Richard took about 15mins to get her to lift her back feet the first time,OMG she could kick for France! lol. Now she just lifts them straightaway and she'll even do it for me, yippee!! Richard is really helping us get our confidence together and has been an absolute angel. Have a look at the pics although please don't look at the state of her feet, farrier coming soon and please don't look at me either no face on and looking chunky, now you know why I've got a Percheron, lol!

That's fabulous, bless her she just needs a bit a patience. her feet are much of a likeness to what Cybelle's were. Cybelle is pretty easy to do in comparison to Lancia but, of course, is much older. Keep up the good work you guys. emw x

Melissa,
Thanks for those kind words, she does seem to be relaxed and is doing really well.
Elaine,
Yep I can remember Cybelles feet! She was so much more laid back and easy going when I went to see them both, however as you say she is much older so there is hope for my girl. We will certainly keep working although not too hard will let Lancia dictate the pace somewhat we have all the time in the world and rather get it right than frighten her and end up getting it wrong. Love Rxxx

Sorry Tia, Only just noticed your post!
Not much news at present on the BIG girl! Weather has been so dreadful not alot of chance to do much with her I'm afraid. So we have just been doing ground work with her. She is really such a character and she is doing really well especially long reigning, she has such a soft mouth. We don't think she has ever had a bit in her mouth but hey everyone has to start somewhere, even if you do weigh nearly a ton! Poor baby has been suffering badly from Mudfever, lol!! However all better now after we put a mixture of Sulphur & Vegetable oil on her legs and she is on sulphur tablets everyday and WOW what a difference! It cleared up after a few days and no real signs now a week later,Thank goodness. Will update when we have got more done, although it's me thats learning more at the moment.
France is great as usual although the flippin weather has been a real pain! However even that doesn't make me want to go back to the UK.
Have read about Rose being a naughty girl and hope it is all going well now. They can be such madams can't they?!
