Thanks all. I must say, the last two rides have been amazing. I'm looking up and way beyond my horse for some reason. Not fretting about what's he thinking is such a relief. This morning on the 7.30 outing we had bawling calves, a man half way up a tree, a dog on a lead and a mare that Blue has the gelding hots for, all in one ride. All I really remember is the variety of trots we worked on during the outing. He's going so well for me. I still need to work on my speed issues and I have developed a fear of going into my home made school and trying the trotting poles (I use poles loosely here- off-cuts of timber would be a better description). I loose schooled him and he canters over everything. Has to be done in the morning before this paticular mental monster grows any bigger.

What I love about your posts Kanga is that at times I actually feel I am out there riding the ride with you. They are so descriptive and honest. The reason that Blue is going so well for you as you mention in your post, is because of the calm, confident and dependable leadership you give him. You are allowing your gorgeous young boy to grow up knowing that he is in safe hands and that is building his confidence up beyond belief, which in turn will of course help yours. You soooo deserve this after all the hard work and the ups and downs the two of you have been through.
I shall look forward to hearing how well the trotting poles went today x

Thanks Casper. Got over the poles before hacking. Point and shoot- no issues at all. No idea why things are so 'right' these last few days, but we have a joint hack tomorrow and if we canter along the whole track with a horse behind us I really will be flipping cartwheels.

Lol! Thanks for the pics too Casper. It's great to see a kind face after all these shared problems and triumphs. Beautiful horses too.
