You're doing fantastic Iceberg. If one person on this DG gets on with things this year, I want it to be you as you were so down only a few months back. We're all behind you (cantering in collection and control of course!)

Thankyou. Kanga, you best keep your distance, I dont want to be razzed off with ;D ;D ;D I didnt get on him on sunday, I had a lady come to see him (he is still for sale) and obviously I couldnt have shown him off (not unless they just wanted to see walk ) Anyhow they wanted to do jumping and I explained he is unfit, we have never done any, and have no jumps, so M rode him around a bit for me, and the girl got on and trotted off up the road on him ,no warm up nothing . Then she came back and asked to canter in the field, so I explained that she would have to work in circles first, get him listening and collected (he is fresh, and not cantered for a few weeks) and WARMED up . Ok she says, we let her in the field and off she goes trots two circles and faces him up a slight hill and I KNOW whats going to happen, oh yes, nose in air horrible fast trot, bouncing everwhere, kick on, and ................buck buck buck ;D To be fair he was very good, I mean it wasnt nasty bucks, certainly not flying ones or really big ones, just wey hey lets go ones. And as soon as she was unseated he stopped and put his head up so she went back into the saddle. So no fall thank goodness, but it clipped her wings a bit I think So they decided he wasnt for them. So after all that ( I wasnt bothered by it all nerve wise) I had to go home a feed my poor starving children as it was 7.45 . As soon as I get a chance I will get on him again and let you all know.xx

Serves her right for not listening to you, or Blue. He sounds like he was very good considering. And if you weren't phased by watching him, its a good boost for the confidence.
Good luck with him.

He was good, and I know this may sound big headed but when Im fixed, I know I could ride him better than that. I know what to do, its just I cant do it yet! I know how it feels to have collection and impulsion, not nose in the air evasion, its just I m nowhere near achieving it yet.
But it was good to watch him, and he was well behaved all the time, and as I said he could have put his head down and she would hve gone straight out the front door, or he could have tanked off, and he did neither. So I was actually very happy with him.xx for Blue.

Not big headed at all. It sounds like she was one of those people who think they are better than they are. Plus being fearless or full of confidence does not eqaul being a great rider.
Do you have to sell him? (sorry I don't know the full story). Sounds like you are doing really well with him at the moment.

I made a desicion to sell him because my nerves were gone. I still want to sell him because I dont think I will ever be truly comfortable with him. Having said that, it is getting better, but really what I want is a fat hairy cob, who I can take out the field and plod around on. I need to find a swap!! That would be ideal.!

lol - I wanted a fat hairy cob and didn't get one either... but even they have problems if you don't get a really good one. May be a case of better the devil you know? But anyway it sounds like you'd already made your mind up that they weren't suitable people anyway... but its good that you weren't fazed by his antics

Yes i made my mind up fairly quickly, after she called him an' it' So really within the first two minutes. And then I thought well this is good for me to learn from, and so I let her ride. But I am lucky to be in a position where I can be choosy who I let him go to. ;D. In the meantime, well ..............who knows?
