It's only just really got going but if you get in touch with your local BHS area officers they'll know there is sufficient demand. I went to one on the 11th nr Cardiff. It took me nearly 2 hrs each way. It was FANTASTIC!! Everyone was really helpful and friendly. My horse isn't well trained but we managed a respectable enough score and came 5th!! I was so chuffed and the rosettes are gorgeous. There are no others near me for another year Get in contact and let them know you are interested, even better if you can offer a helper or suggest a venue.

smallbutmighty how sure are you about the Broomhill BHS trec as i can't find it on the website Sorry only just seen this, to reply. The Broomhill one was 2007, not 2008 - check out the date of the posts (this thread was originally sarted a long time ago!) There's one in Lancashire this weekend (Bowland TREC Group, on 23rd Feb). Should have been Valiants but now moved to Carr Side Equestrian Centre, Chipping, Preston, Lancashire PR3 2TS.

Echo this, and are you a member of any Riding Clubs that might run an event? Or a venue? They are fairly straightforward to run, but they do need a local organiser to make it happen. There are events in Dorset, Surrey and slightly further afield like Gloucestershire (depending in where in Hants you are!) but it's a shame nobody in a big county like Hampshire has got involved to run a Winter Series event so far.

They do quite a number of Trec Training days. If you go to the BHS website and look under events, you can then select an area. Most of the different BHS areas have their own websites for informal events that may not be put on the main site. To hold one an indoor school is ideal, due to the unpredictable weather!! I'm not entirely sure at which point they start, I seem to remember seeing some in October. If the weather is good you may get away with using an outdoor school, as long as you have a seperate area to warm up. Contact your local BHS area co-ordinator and explain you are interested. If you get out to some trainings and comps this summer you will meet people who may also be interested and you might be able to start one from this.
I heard a rumour...somebody scored 100%!!!! (at the one I went to somebody scored a 90 something % in the open!!!)

Good luck! forgot to mention as well as BHS website there are local clubs, mercia trec club, white horse trec group and trec south west on the tip of my tongue, there are more I think. there's also www.trec-uk.com which is a forum for Trec, you may meet people in your area already doing trec that can help. xxx

What are the plans for this winter? I hope that it is all running again! If anyone could do one at Brooksby in Leicestershire again, that would be great! I could hack to that one! ;D

I think the plans are for even more this winter! I'm also hopefully going to help organise one local to me. Have fun and good luck to anyone that goes to one. They start in October. x x x
