We had our annual outing to our local sponsored ride on Sunday! It was a lovely sunny day and Friendly was very good again! It is soooo lovely to have a horse that doesn't pull and get overly excited! On the ride... Approaching the finnish... About to hack home...

Lovely photos Heidi - such a pretty girl! (And the mare's not bad either!).
Unfortunately I needed two hands on the reins most of the way round so didn't take any pics. They'd have been a huge blur anyway.

Thankyou Gemma!!! Becky had the same trouble! I gave my camera to my mum, on the ground, that's how I got my pics!

Hi Miranda!
Unfortunately as Friendly is a headshaker, I don't feel that it is very safe to jump her, as when she has a "shakey moment" she looses control of her legs! For example, last week we fell (thankfully in an upright position!) off our yard drive (bit of a drop onto a vergey area) whilst in shake mode. So it's not really something you would want to happen coming into or going over a jump! She usually only headshakes between April and August, but I guess as the harvest is still going on/only just finished, this year, there are still irritants in the air. Thankfully she only had a few minor shakes on the ride, mostly at the top of the hills, going into the wind!
Thankyou Toni! It makes her easier to find in the dark!!!

Did you flash past them in a blur of speed Emily?!
There were 2 photographs of us, but the first one was awful of Friendly, as she had her head right up in the air, at the sight of the photographer! Luckily she'd come down a bit, for the next photo!

Wow, the prof picture is gorgeous - both horses/ponies look stunning and are matching each other stride for stride (is the other a haffy, or just doing a very good impression of one?). Looks like you had a great time.

Thankyou! It was a really lovely ride. It is just so nice to be able to ride completely (apart from the odd crossing) off road, even if it is for just one day!
Yes! She is a Haflinger, complete with papers! She's lovely isn't she?
We had another fun outing last Sunday, as our local hunt had organised a fun ride. If you wanted to jump, there were about 50 jumps, but you didn't have to, if you didn't want to. I took Roz (the palomino in my signature) she hadn't had a "public" outing for 12 years! I think she rather enjoyed it too!

Thankyou Sara! I think so too, but I might be a bit biased! She is a real friend and well worth the 4 year wait I had to actually buy her and bring her home, here, for good!
