No, you are fine to clip now. The general rule is the second week of january for last clip however most people clip later than this.

no not at all, my horse is having his second clip on tuesday (unfortunely he has to be sedated first by the vet!) and my other pony is getting clipped next saturday, I do know quite a few people who leave it till the last week in Jan.

I did my last clip in early december for that reason. To be honest it doesn't matter when you clip unless you're seriously into showing and only do a part clip. I doubt it would actually spoil anything for a happy hacker. In fact I've known some people who've clipped at moulting time to avoid a mess and sweaty spring horses and the summer coats still came through OK.

I have a pony with sweet itch, who gets incredibly itchy in April, with a combination of sweet itch & coat moulting. So, I clip her every April. Then I show her that summer - and we're normally always placed, so her late clip doesn't affect her showing chances! She gets a lovely summer coat.

My last clip is just as they start moulting, i have always done it that way and it doesnt affect the summer coat at all, you can then do a full clip so as to do away with all that loose hair!!! My friends all do the same.

Mmm, we tend to have the last clip as late as poss as well, end Jan, sometimes even as late as mid to end Feb as long as it's done before the coat starts to change, dosen't appear to be a problem.
