I am really suffering in this cold weather. Any helpful suggestions please will be appreciated. I have tried 2 pairs of gloves, 2 pairs of socks but still cant feel a thing after about ten minutes.

I hav'nt had cold feet since i started wearing leather waterproof walking type boots, they are expensive but as long as you hav'nt got to go in deep water they last for ages. I have mine on all day and am outdoors all the time. As for hands i always make sure i go out with warm hands( we live in a very old farmhouse with very little heating so thats quite hard to do !!) ie put gloves on before i go out and NEVER get them wet, get a large pair of rubber gloves if you need to put them in water then you can keep the gloves on!)Also wear tights, long johns and loads of layers!!!(takes ages to get dressed though)

try massaging your feet/hands daily for maxium circulation boost. handwarmers are good, if you can get them lit and stay lit!! (the charcaol rods and wee blue fibre box ones, about £4.99, and £2.99 for the refills. from good outdoor shops(Tiso's)) as for feet i wear one thin pair of sox with one thick pair and leather joddy boots, feet were toasting today, don't know why as they don't ususally!!

silk socks under wool ones, and long johns or tights. I wear woollen gloves not the neoprean ones they make my hands sweat. You can also get those snoods I think thats what they are called they are a scarf or a hat or both. I have a woollen one really warem,,Also you can get hat thingies which cover your ears and attach to the straps on the riding hat.

I find a fleecy hat pulled well down over my ears is a must! I also wouldn't want to be without my Equitector Chillbusters because they're the only boots I've found that keep my feet warm. I'm another thermal long johns fan - nearly frightened my OH to death the first time he saw me get undressed after a cold night at the yard! - & have been known to put thick wooly tights under them, dead sexy or what?! The other thing that helps is to keep moving, even if I'm filling water buckets from the hose I bounce about on the spot this weather

I bought some walking socks from a camping shop and they keep my feet so warm. I have apair of Harry Hall paddock boots, only cost me £35 and they are fab to wear no matter what the weather. I have some thermal long johns which cost £2.99 from Melton Mowbray market and are lovely and warm. I go to charity shops and buy fleeces which are great to wear on the yard, and because they are so cheap I dont mind them getting mucky. Although last night I went into our local co-op in my hay covered fleece and was asked by the woman behind the deli counter if I had been cleaning my rabbits out LOL

invest in a decent pair of leather boots with goretex lining, make sure your boots are breathable so your feet don't get wet and cold. sealskin gloves are amazing. The best thing though is to keep moving and always wear a hat.

Agree with what others have said about layering - lots of thin layers are better than one thick one as the air between the layers is good insulation.
Also second what Natalia said about wearing a hat - you lose lots of heat through your head so wear a good woolly or fleece hat. It really makes a difference! All the better too if it's a bright silly hat - gives other people a good laugh!

Muck Boots are fab at keeping your feet warm. Thermal long johns and long sleeved vests. Scarves, hats and gloves. Echo what everyone else has said about layers too.

Thanks everyone lots of good tips to keep me warm. Looks like the weather is turning warmer in the next few days so feet should be warming up on their own. I think wellies are the problem but because of the mud and snow I need to keep the feet dry.
