in front of the aids - is that responsive or is it that the horse is anticipating the next move too soon. Like quite a few years ago i was doing novice manouvres in a riding school lesson and the horse i was on knew them all better than I did and once you asked for it once he was just doing it so the instructor got me to change the aids each time to see if he got it wrong and he did, you did a turn on the forehand then asked for something different and got another totfh. can't remember what the other movements were called, it's not something I have really done much of since then.

Sherb - to me infront of is defo' anticipating and acting too soon.
I know the difference with the horses I train at the moment. I wonder if there is a BHS definition as well as the many personal ones though not overly interested in what the BHS think on this topic. Some things they stick to are just plain daft INMHO.
