Love the photos Lorraine, Silver Vanity is our old Arab girls grandsire on her sire's side. Was the yard near Crawley Down?
For my sins had my first pony when I was 4 and have been riding now for 30 years, have been around horses all my life as I was very lucky to have a horse owning Mum, so it's all her fault!

48 years, first lesson when I was 5. But didn't own my own until I was 21, so that's 32 years ago. I was already training as an AI then.

Is there a prize for the longest DG member working with neddies?
I rode from between the ages of 4-17 and it slid away. I started riding again autumn gone and am looking forward to clocking up some horsey miles.

I had some riding lessons for my birthday when i was 10 or 11 and i was hooked! Im 43 now. I met my hubby working at a city farm in the 80s, and had worked as a groom for a year befor that. I spent my Saturdays at the stables, not sure i helping or hindering but i loved it! I had to wait until i was 18 to get my own pony, i bought him myself.

Wanted to ride from the time I could sit up!! Apparently I used to bounce about in the pram and giggle when horses went down the bridlepath next to our house, when I was sitting out in the pram.
Actually started lessons at 10, and had my first horse at 18. So been riding 37 years.
