The pigs on the New Forest are great fun. Three of them set up residence in my fields and de-sensitized about seven ponies in one go. Piper, the Exmoor stallion, is still astounded by them.
At one time there was a pig that had been fed by his owner on a horse. Of course this trained the pig to run up to anyone on a horse with devastating consequences.
Some pigs will bite and attack so the horse's fear is entirely logical.

I have to say that pigs scare the pants off me, so I'm not suprised horses are scared of them. They can be seriously nasty
Tho I hasten to add that I have never transmited this fear to any horse I have ever ridden - they have always gone past eventualy in a civilised, controlled manner ;D
