Hello
I used to be on here aeons ago, it's nice to be back!
I have three horses, all veterans, who have all always been good doers and live out unrugged year round.
However my youngest, 19 year old Ebony, has suffered from some gut health issues this year and is slightly underweight. She has possible mild IBS and bloods show slightly raised inflammation and mild protein abnormalities. She's up to date on worming, has regular psyllium, has a bespoke digestive supplement etc. Vet advice is to blood test again in a few months so in the meantime I'm considering stabling her at night to ensure she eats all her carefully thought out and weighed food and hay herself and so I know exactly what she's getting and to help keep weight on her by keeping her warm in a rug and not walking around burning calories all night. Is this logical? I don't want to stable unnecessarily but it seems like a good idea in my head?
Any tips on looking after the older and more delicate horse? My other two are much nearer 30 but are like fat happy piglets in comparison.
Thanks

I haven’t been on here for ages either! Seems like it might be worth a try as long as she’ll be okay on her own? The other issue you might have is stiffness in the morning, but play it by ear😀
