Hi, over 8 years ago my old horse bolted on a main road with me, we nearly hit 3 cars and it was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life, I have 3 children which also doesn't help with my confidence,I have since bought a horse and habe had her for 4 years, althou she is reasonably good and bought my confidence up to a reasonable level, out hacking I'm always thinking "what if" and literally thinking of the worst situation that can happen out on ride before and during riding and its stopping me sometimes from riding as I'm finding excuses not to ride, any advice would be welcomed on how I can tackle this

It sounds like you could really benefit from seeing an IHRA or other riding-confidence professional, to give you some coping strategies.
