Not sure if any of you will remember me.. its been a few years since I came on here but a lot has happened! One of the biggest things is I lost Bronte to colic back in May last year, and a week later I rehomed McGyver as my situation had changed lots. I had them all living out in a field which wasnt ideal for any of us! Prior to that, I was activly training Nancy classically and once I had got the the bottom of her inbalances nutritionally we were really starting to get somewhere (shes almost white now but still holding on to some of those dapples ).. long story short, training stopped.. but now I only have the one I have her on a friends place which is fab and things are starting to progress again.. how is everyone else doing? Hi,welcome back. Sorry to hear about Bronte, I lost Taylor and Tor in 2014. They leave big holes in your heart and life when they go, don't they.
What are you working on with Nancy at the moment?

Hi Kafee.. currently im doing a lot of inhand classical work with her.. Im heavily in to the Phillipe Karl school of training which has worked wonders for her. Obviously she hasnt been easy throughout.. and she will always throw in challenges, but our relationship has become really strong. Sorry to hear of your guys.. yes they do live big holes but I also know she is running free and happy with a lot of other friends.. it was a shock, as colic is.. healthy one minute and not so the next..

No it's very quiet in here these days which is a shame really. It went almost over night! I go on HHO as well and it's still very busy so don't know what went on in here.

Hi again. Sounds like she's teaching you a lot more than most people ever learn about their horses! Have you got piccies of the two of you working, I'd be interested to see how you do it. You can still post via photobucket, which has changed a few times over the past few years. It got harder to use, but seems really quite user friendly now.
I'm going to reduce the number I have so I can concentrate on one. It was fun having the foals and bringing them up, but I'd just like to be able to go out for ride now and enjoy it, rather than having to be teaching all the time.
Taylor was pts through having lami that I just couldn't cure him of. He'd had it badly twice before and lost condition every winter, so the writing was on the wall. It was better letting him go in the summer with the sun on his back after having his fill of the dreaded green stuff, than waiting until it all got too much in the middle of all the mud, rain and wind of winter.
Like Bronte, Tor dying was a shock. I don't know why he did. I thought he had lami as he'd got out into the long grass, and then didn't come up for his supper the next day. I think it was something he ate, but I just don't know and I never will.

So sorry also to hear of both your losses Kaffe.. in many senses I was glad the decision was made for me with Bronte, I would have hated to have had to do it like you, although he had lami, it was still a decision you made and must have been tough. Bronte was tough enough!
Yes she has taught me bucket loads this mare and I love her to bits for it. I will try and get some photos uploaded, although I havent any decent ones as she had over a year off, but I have some from a couple of years ago, but shes much lighter now.. and im still doing ground work at the mo. Classical in hand work, just teaching her before I get on board.. I LOVE it! Im really driven. I was due to be my trainers student for her Phillipe Karl exam but circumstances beyond my control forced me to stick them all in a field (basically I couldnt afford part livery for 3 horses!)
Cookie of course I remember you.. congrats on the two babies and so pleased to hear you pony has made a recovery.
Wow I remember when this forum was a hive of bustling

Lovely to see you on there again. It is very quiet. Like you, I love the PK way of working and am working with Becky Chapman here in Suffolk. I have had amazing results with my youngster so far and am enjoying the training. I can't post pics on here either but he is on her website at Ashen Equestrian. Keep us posted with your progress

Hello - I remember your username. Welcome back I am so sorry to hear that you lost Bronte. It's all of our biggest dread I think. I still have Beauty, TigerLily and Zeebee. Beauty is 26 now and getting mildly eccentric in her old age. She is gorgeous though - extremely sweet and affectionate. TigerLily is as colourful as ever - I started riding her the year before last, but only a very little bit. My focus is proceeding with consent and minimal (ideally zero) pressure, which is a bit of a challenge with a tricky horse like her. Still, I backed her in nothing but a headcollar and a bareback pad, with the help of Sarah Weston, and she was an angel. The local emergency services were quite relieved I imagine Zeebee has become more confident and has taken to mugging the man who keeps his horse in the next field for food - which is great for a horse that used to be so scared of people. So all good here thank the Lord! I consider it a great day if they are all healthy and happy and haven't had any accidents, incidents or health issues.

Hi 2 bays, I'm very sorry to hear you lost Bronte, and saying goodbye to McGyver a week after must have been incredibly hard.
I've retired Talin aka Fatty, aged 11, I never solved his explosive bronking and we think it's due to back pain but he loved/ loves doing the PK style in hand work - it seems to puff up his little ego and make him want to show off which always makes me smile.
