What would it be and why? I have been thinking about it since I lost Ailsa, and although I have no plans at present for another I feel long term I will get Amigo a pal as 1 at diy livery is a pain. So I have thought long and hard and I don't think I would ever have thousands to buy a ready made horse and as I don't Want to set the world a light with my riding, just a small bit of most things I have narrowed it down to firstly a rescue or rehomed horse. And then if I could pick I would say gelding no more than 15hh a d breed I have got either traditional cob, NF or possibly welsh. Not ever exciting I guess but these seem to be the types I find myself looking at

I been thinking about this too after losing mine. like you , no plans in getting another one, but I love cobs, shires, and have always wanted a coloured, black and white patches, long beautiul tail and long mane, and a mare, not that I have been looking and I lost my bottle for riding but that would be my aim to ride again, and I love dressarge, when I did ride I did a bit of that, and loved it. the trouble is they tend to find you,and outside apperance not what you pictured but inside their soul they do, everything you could wish for,and I think they come to teach you something

Antares Ok maybe if he stayed buckskin instead of going grey, had a blaze and four whites he would be total perfection but it is his temperament and personality that I truly love (for his sake he would be better off without the summer itchiness, I would remove that for him if I could)

It is possible to get it back, I went from not wanting to ride at all to backing my own youngster within 3 years with the help of a magnificent confidence giver. Good luck if you decide to go for it. I can highly recommend it

Dave is just right for me, not too big to get on, lovely paces and very comfortable, all round gorgeous chap. If I was having anything other than a Welsh Cob, I'd have an ex racehorse - I love National Hunt racing and it would be grand to have an old warrior - they are so nice to ride too, if you avoid the totally bonkers ones! But there are only pony sized stables here, so anything over about fifteen hands is a no-no.

Gazdag. I can't think of anything else I'd want in a horse! Ok, an extra hand wouldn't go amiss, 15hh is a tad too short for me if I'm honest. But the best things come in small packages :-)

I'm another one that can't think of wanting any other horse than the ones I have. I love every horse I meet of course, but Beauty, TigerLily and Zeebee are my family, my furry soulmates. They are each so special to me in their individual ways. As I walked into the field tonight, Zeebee came straight over for nose kisses, Beauty came running with her mane flowing and gliding on air, with a whicker, TigerLily was grumpy and let me know I was going to have to work for it to make up for moving her to the new field, which made me smile. They each give me different things and teach me different things. When I was young, I thought I wanted a big black thoroughbred that I could ride the Grand National on. Turns out what I really wanted and needed was a broken down polo pony with a heart of gold, a fiery red pscyhopath and a traumatised cuddle monster who loves nose kisses!

Right now, the pony I want/need, is Taylor who was pts last year after another serious episode of lami. If I could I'd give him better feet, his crumbled and he couldn't work without shoes, but you couldn't keep shoes on for long if he was working.
Connemara, very friendly and easy to handle, safe, sensible and fun to ride for anyone, loved getting out and about, particularly jumping, awesome in a jump off.

Any without problems. I love my girl but she's cost me an absolute fortune in heath care, hours of heartache to see her struggling and in pain and hours of frustration as now she's comfortable she is so tricky to ride as she falls back into old ways of going in an instant. I have to get it all right every time to get her to move correctly which helps her muscle development. Yes I've learnt a lot but it's so often one step forward and two or three back. Just sometimes........

I am so fortunate to have my dream horse - I just didn't know it would be a huge hairy cob but there you go!
