Mods, might be an idea to pin this for future reference? Thanks to someone on another forum I found out that DEFRA have delegated the job of enforcing the Weeds Act to Natural England, and you have to be able to show that there is other grassland within 100 metres which is at risk (not necessarily your own land). They also ask you who owns the land, same as DEFRA used to. I reported one across the road from me and they have put the procedure in place - landowner is subject to a fine and if he still hasn't taken action to remove the risk (seeds) they can do it and charge him. Unfortunately didn't really do it early enough and now the plants have gone to seed, but they will take it up again after the winter. They do ask for updates from me and I have to go and see if anything has been done from time to time, but at least they are actioning my complaint.

Gosh, that's very interesting, how do we get in touch with them.
Not that I need to know at the moment, as the conservation group have done such a good job digging and pulling the ragwort over the past 3 - 4 years that there was little to pull this year.
