Excellent. Well done to all involved in his care, I know the amount of time & dedication to nurse through EGS is huge. If you can email the pics i will post them for you? I'll pm you x

Yay, huge congratulations! Sadly few have succeeded, well done. Have you documented all you the problems you faced and solved, this could be the turning point for this disease.

Thank you so much for the pics! Yes he has a complete diary of the first 12 weeks of his illness, everything he did was documented to the letter. It may be useless but who knows, one day it may help someone?

Incredible pics, you really have been to hell and back with your gorgeous boy. I'm so glad he's come out the other side. Sure his 'diary' is well worth keeping - each case is slightly different, and every owner ends up desperately looking for any advice re what to try feeding, and so on, so diaries like yours are invaluable. Whereabouts in the country are you? I lost my boy with devastating speed to acute GS (I was riding him on the Thursday, and he was put down on the Saturday morning) and I'm on the Shropshire/Welsh borders - didn't even realise at the time that GS came this far south, but it's actually surprisingly common round here.

There's a grass sickness thread on the Horse Health Issues board - might be worth putting some info from your experience on there, or just a link to this thread, in case other people are looking it up. ihdg.proboards.com/thread/91855/grass-sickness

Thank you. Yes it has been hell, at one point the only way he was keeping going was by mixing pony nuts and molasses into a paste and syringing it into him very 20 mins, interspersed with water as he couldn't drink by himself. Feeds every hour for the first three weeks, every two until about 13 weeks in - day an night. I can honestly say I've never been as shattered in my life, body still wont adjust to sleepig again - but he is worth it ? I'm going to try make a copy if his book at some point in the hope it may help someone. Liz I am in north Yorkshire - lost my precious Nazika to GS 5 years ago, full of herself at 5pm, gone by 9pm ? it's devastating, so sorry about yours xx
