**UPDATE**
Hi everyone
We're listening to all of you and finding the best way forwards for the DG so please bear with us for the next few weeks whilst we get this sorted.
In the meantime we will be doing a general tidy up of the forums and you may see some 'disappearing'. No threads are actually being deleted. Posts from 2013 and 2014 are being moved into the General Horse Forum for now. Those older than that are being placed into archive (but still searchable and readable).
For the time being carry on as you are.

"Kelly's Toy" Ouch! It's a bit hurtful that the people you offer hospitality and a platform to clearly don't actually like you! My position is to be honest (with myself as much as anyone else) and face facts about how many things I can or want to deal with in a day/week/year. I've made some really good friends and learned a lot from different people's opinions on the DG (though it's also caused an awful lot of aggravation over the years you old timers will know!) Even now I feel I waste emotional energy each week when I get another damn email (!!) over who said what to who (or is it whom?) Where's Catrin to correct my grammAr?! Facebook is so much more user friendly - I can quickly post a photo on there and respond to people. I've made good friends through facebook already.
The Mods have also moved on in their lives and it's not fair of any of us to expect them to constantly monitor threads so we don't get the 'I'm going to sue you phone calls!' and long involved emails.
Enlightened Education is a good group to join. It does cost £20 to be able to post on it but I'm sure people wouldn't begrudge Heather that with all her knowledge and generosity in helping people. You don't get the magazine with competitions and so on but it enables you to communicate with like minded people.
I am NOT the Admin team and they are generously formulating a plan here to do their best for people - well done them.
It's a sunny afternoon now - I'd really rather be riding than sorting out another DG debate. Many thanks to the people who have been understanding and supportive. You can find me on Kelly Marks and Intelligent Horsemanship on facebook if you'd like to look!

Kelly I think you have misread that comment - it was meant respectfully along the lines of recognising that it's your DG and yours to do as you wish with, it's not for me to tell you how to run your affairs. I don't know if it was me or LisaP who used that phrase, but it in no way inferred dislike, I'm not quite sure why you would think that? I know I have utmost respect for you, as I'm sure Lisa does too. I wouldn't bother coming on here if I didn't like the people or the ethos!
I had no idea people sent long emails and made calls about issues on here, that certainly puts a new light on things. What a shame people can create such an admin burden, it would be nice if it just ticked along well!

For what it's worth - I didn't read "Kelly's toy" as an insult. Ditto Jennyb's comments above and I think we all on here have respect for you and the ethos of IH, which is probably why we are all so concerned about the changes.

I remember some of the very difficult times on here over the years and suspected unpleasant stuff went on behind the scenes. I took "toy" as a bit of an insult tbh but resisted commenting. A toy is something you play with as opposed to taking seriously! Some may see the DG as a toy but I don't think IH does and just adds to my support for this sad decision. .

Firstly I must apologise if a lightly meant turn of phrase caused offence when absolutely none was meant. There is no way that I would keep returning to the DG if I did not admire or respect its originator.
Secondly, I don't think that any of us who post here had the first idea that the DG results in endless emails and hysterical threatening calls along the lines of "I will sue you". Knowing that to be the case, I'm sure, in Kelly's shoes I would have closed down the whole proboard long since. Nothing is worth that amount of hassle and upset.
Given that we are obviously working with not the full picture of what has happened behind the scenes, this puts a very different slant on the discussions that are taking place regarding the DG.

Sounds good, Admin, many thanks for all your great work on our behalf. Is the Rainbow Bridge page going to remain accessible, even if locked? I do hope so, for those of us who have posted on there about our beloved animals (and people), it's a special place to visit from time to time.
