He's looking great! Lovely and active, what a super chap. What are the plans for this year, antares, any competitions in the pipeline?

At the moment we are getting out and about to lessons and clinics as away from home he still gets anxious so we are working on that first, my priority at the moment is settling on a trainer as I feel my riding needs a lot of improvement.
Also the forward moments do not last long, he still is not as front of my leg enough of the time but this is improving as he gets stronger.
Competition wise, I would like to do a few unaffs dressage over summer and maybe affiliate over winter but I'm really not in a rush so I'll just see how he goes. For a laid back horse he can be very sensitive and rushing him just makes him shut down so is to be avoided

Sounds like a nice relaxed summer ahead, taking things at his pace will pay off I'm sure.

Antares - do these exercises again without stirrups and take the photos again, you'll be surprised what a difference you will see in your position!

We went to a clinic today, second time of riding in a school with other horses and he was so well behaved. No mirrors this time but there was a horse in my session who had a friend outside on the lorry and they were constantly calling to each other. Antares seemed very concerned about the one outside and kept calling to her. Not realising she wasn't actually talking to him lol
Today we worked on leg yielding facing the wall along the long side and then a just over 1/4 turn about the forehand. Also half halting exercises and a bit of canter. The transitions are definitely improving.
Very pleased with my baby at the moment, he really tries but we need to still work on relaxation when we're away from home as that's when we are both happiest
