I had 14 horses to treat and everything that went with them, started by hot bathing them all with demoline, worming with ivermercectin wormer , and using spot on, into clean rugs and repeated every 8 days, the life cycle of most lice is around 10 days , so if you kill adult that could have laid eggs, etc, adults , young , larvae, eggs, and 1 more treatment for good measure should see them gone

Thanks. I got deosect from the vets (nearly fainted at the price £45.62 ) first dose done today, stables scrubbed, grooming kits and rugs etc all being thoroughly cleaned. Vet has suggested bathing but I think its to cold and they are mega fluffy so would take ages to dry. She has also suggested clipping them out but being minis they are close the mud with there tum tums and I would be worried about keeping them warm. I will see how I get on with the deosect and louse powder. Hopefully I can get rid of them quick and then it will just be keeping them away.
