Had a good day competing on Sunday. Floyd was a super star as ever! Will try and download a short video clip later (now added). Not bad for a pony who was retired 3 years ago due to kissing spines! (Oh and who was diagnosed with Cushings in August 2012. Hope this helps some of you who are going through these worrying things just now). Not sure if this link will work as it's the first time I've used You Tube! Obstacle 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRbjjCYhQg4Obstacle 2 youtu.be/m-c4h_of5Kw

Yeeha go Floyd. Just out of interest, did you drive before you found out about the kissing spines or get into it as an alternative?

Thank you all.
Wills, no I started to drive him after his kissing spines. He was a typical pony club pony before he started bucking in canter and dropping his back legs jumping. Then he struggled walking down hills so took him to vets for X-rays & a body scan Which found kissing spines in the lumber region. He had two sets of 'Tildren' treatments etc but that didn't help so I decided to retire him at 12 years old. Then I moved yards and a lady was driving her Shetland - it gave me the idea & after checking with the vet, we've never looked back!!
I promised to write an article about it for the IH magazine, perhaps I'll do that this week.

Is it a BDS comp? Kent always seems to have much more going on than Sussex. Not that I've got a turnout anymore

No it was a Bradbourne Carriage Driving Club comp Sharon. Well you'd be very welcome to pop up for a drive if you miss it. A driving friend of mine is in Peasmarsh, East Sussex.
