Hi there, I've just found this great Forum - I'm a big fan of Kelly and Monty and look forward to learning loads here. I am just getting back into horsiness after many years without a pony. I recently bought a lovely 9hh chestnut Shetland I've called "Boyo." He is a really sweet-natured pony, but a bit small for me to ride! We are currently going for walks to get the fat off him. (it is definitely working for ME!) and getting to know one another. Life has just got a lot more enjoyable.

Welcome - I hope you find lots of interest. We can be a bit scary but just say "boo!!" if we get carried away (Would be nice to know whereabouts you are)

Thank you for such a nice welcome. I live in beautiful Monmouthshire, South East Wales. I have a Border Terrier called Toffee who is also enjoying walks with Boyo. Especially when she is off-lead through the Parkland and can roll in something stinky behind my back!

Hi Clara! Pleased to meet you.I got Boyo as my first step back to hands-on horsieness. I love Exmoors! I have been looking for a sensible ridden one for ages with no luck. They either have sweet itch /laminitis/ unsuitable behaviour/too expensive/or sound perfect but live hundreds of miles away! I think once someone has a nice one, they tend to hang onto it!

Hi! Welcome Clara! I look forward to hearing your progress with your shetland. I had one on loan once, he was great at driving but had an unsettling habit of throwing himself over backwards when he did not want to do something.......

Hello & welcome. Have you thought about training him to pull a small carriage?? It's great fun! My friend drives her mini Shetland.
