Any other catching pee nutters?

I wondered how many of you are as lunatic about catching wees in the stables as I am. Two of mine always do a nice long one as soon as they get in onto clean shavings, or minutes after, and I dodge about like a demented loolah to save the bed. The mares find me deeply off-putting... so we line the bucket to reduce splashing sounds... is it just me and the ongoing neurotics? ;D

When i had my last horse at home i did that. She would actually pee on command into the bucket! Bless her. So i don't think it is odd, especially with the price of bedding!!

Now i am on part livery and i have to say i don't although i very rarely see my horse pee. If i see some wet on the surface of the bed i always take it out though.

Haha, yes me too although my boy does it on command. If he needs to go and I haven't noticed then he will gently tap my foot with his foot until I get the bucket!!!

I saw a livery do this once and afterwards said to a friend I thought she was bonkers... only for my friend to say she does it too and why on earth don't I!!!

Talin is now on part livery so I don't need to muck out but if I see any very wet stuff on the surface I tend to take it out to save him from standing in it.

my first riding instructor when I was little took her ponies out to pee on the muck heap to a whistle command -she was very scary wouldn't think ponies would dare have peed in their stables! I've never done the bucket thing but my current boy always wees before he goes in and immediately when he comes out -sometimes he will bang door or generally be agitated -shouting let me out basically-then go for a huge pee -he does wee overnight inside but I would think only once -occasionally I'll go up late and take him out -and he will go, unfortunately I'm not disciplined enough to do it every night

Well now Riff' just to raise eyebrows further.... I find I can watch the mares having a wee and catch it, but when Flynn goes I feel duty bound to turn away and give him some privacy. He has this sort of soul deep satisfaction look when peeing... I couldn't intrude. He does the full fire hose all over the box when he overnights. Filthy.

I am another and will catch it if I can, horse doesn't like it though even though I pat him after and tell him he's a good boy. opps!

Rosie Arab wouldn't demean herself to wee in her stable ;D Consequently we have to get up in the morning to let her out to wee (and do their breakfasts). In weather like this we have to make sure she is out enough to wee and then we skip out around 10p.m. and she goes out to wee. JD (grrr) hears the door open and promptly wees! With Lucky, at his age, we just like to see he does wee! When we just had the two boys we did try and catch they wee!

Fellow liverys mare pee's on command, she does this sort of whistle and the mare walks one lap round the stable and pees, quaranteed! Coming in from the field and first thing in the morning, she's also uber clean and poo's in one big pile

I try and catch Fire's, but she waits until I'm in the tackroom! I do sometimes hide behind the door and make a mad dash with a bucket when she starts to pee, poor girl You should see the look on her face ;D

My youngest pees on command pretty much but i don't need to catch it! 'wee wee now' and away he goes even if he doesn't need one, he has one before we ride every single time in the same place just inside my gate or in the same corner of my grass arena, one before he loads before we go out and before he loads on the way home and sometimes has to have one before he goes back in the field..............if he is in during the day he will hold it as long as possible waiting for someone to come rescue him and only pee in the stable if he absolutely has to despite his bed being 6inches deep.... and if he is caught short whilst hacking or schooling at my friends down the road then he is most uncomfortable and rushes home.....

I wouldn't have any chance of catching, coblet is far too shy to pee in front of a human, she assumes the position and stands there looking at me until I have the decency to leave her stable ;D

I used to be able to catch Flurry's as he was very predictable about timing. I am not organised enough though to make sure I always have the right receptacle, and there was the unfortunate occasion when I grabbed the first thing to hand which was a feed bucket - fine, until i tried to take it out and poured it all over my feet
