Fingers crossed for some positive news this week. xx

Thank you ... i haven`t got much of an update really, my vet was back in today, so i spoke to him this morning. He wants to keep Coby in until we (both) start to feel like he is deflating, as there are still risks with him being the size he is. Once more, it is just uncharted territory so i (kind of) understand what my Vet is saying, and (kind of) agree for now he`s in the best place. My vet feels the rupture should be healing, and it`s best to give it a good few more days (maybe longer) before trying to travel him home, as Coby does stress out big time when travelling .... but at least we have mentioned him coming home, which feels like a huge milestone for me ...... So, he`s still as swollen, still eating and still drinking (not much has changed there) ... But **hopefully** he is starting to be on the mend

I hope Coby has made some improvement today. Can't believe the size of him, he must be so uncomfortable so his behaviour is totally understandable. Can he wear a headcollar and be led out pr grazed in hand? When my boy was in horsepital he got very bargy and I used to take him out to graze in hand when I visited, it may be worth asking the vet if you could. Do they have any idea what could cause an injury like Coby's? Keeping my fingers crossed for him. xx
PS - Please don't hate me for saying this but can some sort of clip not be used instead of padlocking him into his stable? In any emergency it could cause an awful delay.

Crossed posts!
Glad to hear there has been some improvement today. The fact that he's still eating and drinking has to be a really good sign. Hopefully he's turned a corner and will continue to improve each day. xx

Hi Lisa, at the moment they need to keep him as still as possible, to keep him resp rate low and steady, he doesn`t need any help getting het up lol They are thinking about letting him go out in one of their small paddocks for an hour or so in the next day or 2 (i`m hoping). They have no idea what he`s done, as he had no external trauma !!! He`s very talented and just loves keeping me (and the vets) on our toes They only padlock over night, and they have to for fear of theft. That is a greater risk than anything else sadly.

Im glad he is doing well I hope he continues to improve. Bless him. Hugs to you both.
P.s. do people really steal horses from vets? What theif would want a sick or injured animal. Some people should be shot.

Not getting any worse is starting to sound a bit more hopeful Daisy - still keeping it all crossed though. Poor Coby, it's hard when you can't explain it all to them.
