The 2012 IHDG Charity Auction
The first week of October 2012 is Auction Week! We hope there will be loads of donations, so loads of fab items for you to bid on. The lots won't just be horsey stuff (although look out for bargains there too), so this could be the place for you to start your Christmas shopping.
This is how the auction will work. During September, you rummage round and find good quality stuff that you are happy to donate. You start a thread in the 2012 Charity Auction area. Describe your item fully, including condition. If it's not new, say if there is any wear or damage. If possible include a photo. You should also state if there is a minimum bid and whether you or the winner will be paying the postage. If you would like the winner to pay the postage, you should indicate how much you expect that to be. In other words, give the bidders all the information they need up front.
Each thread will be locked until the bidding starts on 1st October. You can look, you can chat in the chat thread, and you can decide what you'll be bidding on, but until 1st October you can't bid.
The bidding starts on 1st October. You can look, you can chat in the chat thread, and you can decide what you'll be bidding on, but until 1st October you can't bid. Any bids placed before 8am on Monday, 1st October will not count.
Bidding will run for a week. Bidding on all items without exception will close at 9pm on Sunday, 7th October. The threads will be closed after that. Any bids entered after 9pm per the DG clock will not count, no matter how high it is.
All the proceeds will go to Shy Lowen, the IHDG charity of the year. Do not list any items that you don't want to donate 100%.
The categories will be:
For the horse (anything from tack to RA time to books & DVDs)
For the house (ornaments, art, kitchenware....)
For you and your friends (jewelery, clothes, pamper stuff...)
For other animals (leads and collars, beds, dog walking)
Misc (anything else, other sites have auctioned B&B stays, CV writing, you name it!)
Shy Lowen needs every penny we can raise, so get rummaging now!
