Lulu the little black stray cat that found us just over 3 yrs ago is at the vets.
She has not been eating properly for a couple of days and then yesterday decided not to drink either, so took her to vets this a.m. and they found a medium/large heart murmur which was a total surprise.
They did blood tests and put her on a drip to re-hydrate her. They rang this p.m. to tell us that her white cells were raised indicating an infection although she doesnt have a temperature, they checked her kidneys and liver and there is no prob there, so have put her on antibiotics and something else to get rid of stomach acid. They are keeping her in tonight and will ring us tomorrow between 7.30 - 8.30a.m. with an update. They also found gingivitis which we knew nothing about, but that isnt bad enough to stop her eating according to the vet.
They will discuss the heart murmur more fully when they ring tomorrow and hopefully we will be able to bring her home.
Just when I thought everything was going hunky dory too.............sigh............

She came home Sat a.m., but only because she was stressing soooo much in the vets, under instruction that if she gets 'any' worse or doesnt improve then we take her straight back. She has antibiotics, some antacid which she has to have daily. Clare said when she picked her up that she had never seen an animal sooo pleased to see her, she seemed so worried being there, perhaps she thought we had deserted her like her previous owner had, who knows.
Going to monitor the heart murmur without medication for time being and if a prob will have her back to vets.
She wasnt looking well Sat tbh in fact both Clare and I were very worried, but she has rallied round once again and although not right, getting there. She has been drinking and eating but very small amounts, so keeping fingers crossed........again.
On the upside Teddy went to vets this morning for a check up, just to see what David thought of him and he now weights 22.2kg and David said he was a lovely healthy pup as far as he could see........YAY!
