2 day Leadership Workshop Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th March 2012
Exploring Common Myths to Develop Practical Leadership
Tired of not knowing what or who to believe?
Do you want to be able to decide for yourself what’s fact and what’s fiction when it comes to training your horse?
Are you concerned with the concept of using dominance to interact with equines? Do you really want trust, partnership and good leadership between you and your horse, but people say you have to be the boss?
With so many different ways of training horses and so many trainers it can be difficult to know who or what to believe when deciding what is best for your horse.
This fun weekend using an interactive learning approach including the use of video, discussion and activities to examine the myths that surround equine training and the roles of dominance and leadership, to allow you to identify your own style of leadership so that you can become confident in developing all your equine relationships.
•Explore myths such as “You have to speak the language of the horses” and “You’ve got to be the alpha female!”
•Put pay to nagging self doubt and learn to trust your own instincts
•Avoid relationship damaging methods or approaches based on incorrect information
•Learn the principles of leadership and make the right decisions with your horse
•Choose the type of leader you want to be and how that affects your horse
•Discover the truth about equine behaviour, leadership and dominance
•Practise the skills of the 7 habits of effective horse trainers
•How to tell if a method of training is based on dominance or leadership
•Learn the requirements and exercises to establish safe domestication
•Understand the timing and science of reinforcement for clearer communication
•How creating a good environment is essential to good leadership
