I've decided that I need to work on my position more in order to help Raz when ridden. In particular I need to discover my seat bones and how to use them correctly. I need to learn this without Raz in order for me to help teach her (she is discovering bending but I think ridden wide I'm blocking her)
Does anybody know of a good riding/dressage instructor with a schoolmaster for me to have a lesson on in the Surrey/Hampshire/Sussex area.

I'd book a lesson with your local EET, no need for you to have a lesson on another horse first as it won't take them long to sort you out! In fact when I did what Liz Brabham told me to do Talin clearly found it all easier and more intuitive ;D

Guildford. I guess I wanted a lesson a schoolmaster as Raz is such a reactive sensitive horse and we have only just got trot on long lines without stress and tension

I don't have a schoolmaster, but could have a look at your riding on a simulator (Chobham) if you want, then go from there.

Lomond in Horley. Classical Riding mainly on Iberian schoolmasters . The best position work I've ever done/watched. The lady has a real eye. And the schoolmasters teach you the correct position themselves anyway ;-) Call Alex 07808400847

Kathyt I've not got anything in my inbox? I've used the simulator at Laris Farm. I hold the record as the only person to have been taken off with when using it!!

Please PM me details. I'm looking for help with the feel on bending as that's where I struggle as I'm restricted through my hip flexors

I had my lesson on the simulator with Kathy today and I didn't want to get off! It was amazing! Kathy was very good at explaining everything. I like that EE is simple, it's putting what our bodies do on the ground onto the horse. No trying to force yourself into impossible positions. I cannot wait to ride on Monday and try it all out on a real horse.
I would thoroughly recommend Kathy, well worth it!!
Thanks Kathy, will let you know how Monday goes ;D

So glad you enjoyed the lesson Apacherose ;D If you have a horse you can use for lessons I would be very happy to come over to teach you. Byrony83, Apacherose has trouble with her hips as well, but for some reason (I can't quite explain why I'm afraid!) found that her hips were ok after the best part of 3/4 hr on the sim. In fact I practically had to drag her off
