Just heard back from my sister. My great niece ( 8 ) and Tom went off to a show at Brendon today and she desparately wanted to ' do it on her own ' and not be in lead rein classes She entered for Best Rider and there were 14 in the class..... and she won it. How fab is that ? I spent all morning before they left telling her about how the experience of doing it alone was all that the day was about and she probably won't get a rosette etc ! What do i know I think her instructor will be thrilled but i am now wondering if it was the IH Hoodie that i bought her for Christmas that bought her a bit of luck ? It was funny seeing her, her Mum, me and Julie all arrive at the yard this morning in matching Hoodies !!!

I know. Her instructor was thrilled with the news this morning. No one got any photos though. See what happens when you leave them to organise the outing without me !!!! lol

Ahhh bless ;D That well won 1st rosette will take pride of place in her bedroom I bet, and how lovely that she returned to a family full of pride. I know it's a British thing , the "taking part and all" , but you know the "will to win " is a good thing in my mind and she obviously has it

She wanted to explain to me this morning, that the judge explained to the class why Morgan and Tom had won. Apparently, she was " the only rider to follow the judges' instructions " !
Because it was a big class, she had asked that instead of an individual show, each competitor do a 20 meter circle in walk and trot, with a change of rein and repeat. ( Its the first time that Morgan has EVER listened ) !!!!
I said to her " Make sure you put a date and class on the back of your rosettes Morgan so that you don't forget where and when you won them " She asked " Is that what you did with your rosettes with Lukie " ?
................ " Erm.. no Morgan. I never had so many that i ever forgot " haha
