Dan seems to be rather scared of nearly everything! When i am with him since having sheila out he is ok and looks to me for reassurance but tonight because someone had dropped a broom he was petrified so in the stable i dropped the broom whilst rubbing his shoulder and then carried on for about 5 mins so he got over it, am i doing right or wrong? The whole time i didnt look at him but kept my hand on him till his head went down and he ate hay. He spends his time with me in the stable offering kisses and licking his lips so very gently so i am thinking that maybe he is starting to trust me?

Sounds like he is definitely seeing you as someone who will protect him - great stuff! If Jos gets a fright with something random like that, I do much as you did and he soon calms down and sees it as OK. The only thing we haven't mastered so far is the horse eating leaves that chase us up the road *sigh* ;-)

Sorry, can't remember but have you had him on MagOx? If an equine displays symptoms of being scared at stuff he really ought to be able to take in his stride it can be magnesium deficiency, as I'm sure you know.

I have got him on equine america magnesium but he is still jumpy, its odd cause since day one of me having him he has been nervy and he was in a home for 6 months prior to me getting him and then before that he was at his breeders and i spoke to the breeder who said he was always such a brave lad!
