Just thought i'd introduce myself as i've been a lurker here since I joined at the Brooke Farm demo in September.
My name is Daisy and i'm 23, from Rochford in Essex. Well i'm from Ramsgate in Kent but I live in Essex now with my boyfriend but you get waht I mean.
I have a Bsc (Hons) in Equine Science which I did at Writtle and I currently work for a feed manufacturer and distributor so yay, cheap feed for me!
Anyway i've been around horses all my life depsite non of my other family members being the slightest bit interested to start with. I loaned/borrwoed/shared horses through my teens and got my first horse when I was 15. Jimmy, the most amazing Thoroughbred in the world. (Obviously i'm biased.)
Sadly Jimmy passed away 5 years ago from COPD and I swore i'd never put myself through the heartache of losing a horse again. So fast forward 5 years and i've gone and put a deposit on an Appaloosa x TB colt to be picked up in April. Well, with all that feed and all.... ;D
So without further adue, this is Whitehawk Takoda, or Koda for short. - The first horse i've ever named!
His grandsire is the queen's famous racehorse Auralight. He's coming from the Whitehawk Spotted Horses stud in Somerset and I cannot recommend their stock enough. Such beautiful, well bred and perfectly put together horses. The youngsters run free across acres and acres of countryside, I mean what could be more perfect for a colt? So yeah, i'm looking forward to him being a bit "spirited" when he first arrives!
Aside from horses I keep oodles of other animals, mainly of the reptilian persuasian as my previous job was manager of a reptile department. I also have ferrets and Border Collies (lots of Border Collies!) and well you name it...
So that's enough from me, i'm looking forward to getting really involved here.
Bye for now,
Daisy xxxxx
