Hi I'm possibly moving to Warwickshire in the next few months. Specifically Rugby. Just wanted to hear from people what it's like for horses in the area. Also if you've got any general information about the area such as rent, work etc that would be great!!
Thanks!

I used to work at a funeral directors there, it's alright.. Got friends who live, work and keep their horses there..
Some fab yards in the area.. Best recommendation to you would be to pop along to the local saddler if you can, pretty good one, at Tower Farm, CV23 8UX, and have a look at their message boards.. Hundreds of secrets for livery, schooling, instruction, alternative therapists and whatnot.. I've never seen most of them advertising elsewhere..
Where are you moving from?

I used to live there when I was at uni. I kept my boy at a yard called Vicarage Farm which is in Bretford, literally 5 mins drive from Rugby. It is honestly the best yard I have ever ever been at in my life, absolutely loved it, and miss it and the liveries like mad. It is only a small yard, and doesnt often have spaces. If you want details, pm me! I could also possibly give you a bit of advice on where to avoid!
Tower Farm is a brilliant place to have a look for other adverts. It is a great tack shop, sells everything. I worked there to find myself and Lloyd when I was at uni

I lived in rugby until I was 14. As above Tower Farm is brilliant, lots of choice and they have a seconds and secondhand area which is handy. Depending on which area of rugby you are looking at, I lived in hillmorton, the hacking can be very good. You also have rugby riding club which has shows every weekend from April to October, I believe, and it was a very friendly riding club, not sure now as I haven't been there for 20 years. There is also the fairly new place at Onley, cant think of the name right now, with very good facilities which they are continually improving. Areas to live in you do need to really think about, rents are about 475 for a 2 bed terrace but this is dependant on the area. Please pm me if you would like any advice as I have a good knowledge of the area. X

Thank you everyone for your replies! I'm moving from Brighton. I don't have a horse at the moment, haven't had one for a few years but will be looking at getting one when I get there. Probably on loan first of all. I'm going to be moving sometime in January as my current rental contract runs out then. What we're finding difficult is the logistics of finding somewhere to rent and signing cintracts etc when we're a good few hours drive away at the moment! I'm looking forward to the move

I would love to be in a village but I don't have transport at the moment so will probably have to look at being in town itself. That would be great if you can send me a local paper, I'll pm you my address. Thank you! Sharing could be a good option. Definitely something to think about. Would it be possible for some more information about your mare? Thanks again!
