Wilkinson cushioned brushes 99p, i don't brush without putting loads of conditioner in the mane first though.

Lol Annabelle - hubby bought me mine from America! Even better than buying it yourself - get someone else to buy it for you...

How about one of those tangle teezer brushes? Made for humans and I was planning on getting one for me and trying it on Spring.

I keep Gus's tail clean (with cherry and almond loreal kids shampoo ) fill it with a mane and tail conditioner showsheen is best unless you want to plait it and use a stiff body brush every day if possible it wont damage the hair

I use a tangle teaser - human hair brush does brilliant job and most of the time dont need any conditioner. Only problem is brush is a bit small so easy to drop.

I use pig oil on manes, tails and feathers, and then use cheap hairbrushes.

Another vote for oster here my cob had the thickest mane and tail imaginable and both very long and never had any problems with the oster brush either. It was the only thing I could get through his tail!!!

I give my cobs mane and tail a good spray with Canter coat shine then I use my 'Mane Tamer' brush. She's got a lovely long glossy mane and a long bushy tail so can't be bad! Wish I could find something that worked as good on my own mop!

Thanks all! If I counted up the money spent on cheap (and not great on my old boy who was hogged before I met him) brushes I should prob splash out on an Oster. The cost of it might inspire me to actually use it!

Another vote for Tangle Teezers. Magic for fragile manes that you dont want to loose any hair from.
